Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
4 is a pretty safe bet.
When we trade for Nash (or even just Ryan) I'll get the fanciest new jersey

Fantastic trade... The Leafs got rid of one of the least effective defenceman in the NHL at driving puck possession (despite playing sheltered minutes), and received a talented forward with high upside in return.

That never happened. My money is on Schultz coming to Toronto, the Gardiner factor is a big one.shooker wroteCOLONSchultz has openly said he wants to go to western Canada....

The Leafs got rid of Jonas Gustavsson as well! This was a fantastic weekend to be a Leafs fan.

Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
The Leafs are solid on the wing with this deal but who are your centers?
Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
Grabo, Connolly, Lombardi, Bozak, Steckel ... but which lines do they center? Also does this mean Kulemin is gone?
Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
Kulemin drops down to a 3rd line role, or one of he or Mac gets traded the way it looks. Carlyle leans heavily on two lines, so it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. I'd like to see us bring in another center and shed one of Connolly or Lombardi. I think Lombardi can center the 3rd/4th, the other Bozak gets, Steckel can play the wing and just be a faceoff specialist. I'm not entirely sure if Connolly can be as bad as he was last season, but I wouldn't mind another team taking that risk.
Also Shook if you can provide a link, I've looked around and I've only seen it on like one or two HF board posts where they say theres a "western Canada Factor". No where can I find anything he or his agent or family said. I can understand him wanting to play closer to home, but just wanted to read it.

i gotta agree with Neel on this one; however, i'm not the biggest Kulemin fan; tbh, i'd rather trade Kully and keep Mac.

Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
Kulemin is better than Mac, and he's a great fit on our 3rd line
as for the trade im kind of on the fence with it ... Schenn was my favourite player ever since he got drafted ... but he sucked major this year
JVR is a walking bandaid, but if he stays healthy he could become a legit top liner
also, the Leafs are very interested in Colin Wilson still, i believe ... may be a good pickup

Nashville wouldn't move him cheap either, he'd cost a ton.....he's gonna be a Mike Fisher clone. Nashville needs to fill almost every position, so they'd be asking for a good winger + a good prospect to start with.
Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
Colin Wilson rumor started cause Henny tweeted that Burke was talking to Poille and Holmgren so people assumed there was a NSH deal coming after Philly one.
JVR had one bandaid season this past one, two seasons before he played 75+ games each I believe. Too early to classify him as injury prone.

Burke was talking yesterday about him having foot issues as well (something similar to Ryan Whitney) and said he was doing therapy for it, hopefully it isn't something that keeps him out of 20% of our games.inferno31 wroteCOLONColin Wilson rumor started cause Henny tweeted that Burke was talking to Poille and Holmgren so people assumed there was a NSH deal coming after Philly one.

Schultz never said that, Schultz and his agent have not officially said anything about where he will sign.shooker wroteCOLONLol words, they are easy to read... Try it and you may also see what's been said.
Here are some reasons I believe Schultz will sign with Toronto (originally posted by idiotsavant):
Drafted by: Brian Burke, now with the Leafs
Head Coach when drafted: Randy Carlyle, now with Leafs
Positional coach when drafted: Dave Farrish, now with Leafs
Players drafted to Anaheim in 2008:
1st round, Jake Gardiner, now with Leafs
2nd round: Nik Deschamps, now with Leafs
College teammate, roommate and best friend: Jake Gardiner, now with Leafs
Justin Schultz' birthday is July 6th, 1990
Jake Gardiner's birthday is July 4th, 1990
Re: Toronto TRADES Luke Schenn for JVR
