I actually agree with this. I had McGinn and Martinook pegged for 4-5th rounders anyway ... I just lucked out. But yes, I think once we get beyond the 1st round we need to adjust time. Maybe even start two weeks earlier (or something).Kezia wroteCOLONIt's already enought of a shit show how we do the draft where people can just run the clock and get 2nd round picks in the 4th + round of our draft.

i quite enjoy this aspect of our draft, that's why having 3rd and 4th round picks can be 'some what exciting' ....we can nab up a few guys who went higher in the NHL draft.Kezia wroteCOLONIt's already enought of a shit show how we do the draft where people can just run the clock and get 2nd round picks in the 4th + round of our draft.

Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I had a 3rd round pick go at the end of the 2nd, a 4th go in the 6th round and another 4th go undrafted...thems the breaks.
If we're going to worry about where guys actually go in the draft and complain when a player every other GM in our league misjudged...remind me again why we're doing this before the actual draft? You guys are going to pride yourself on research...that's your problem if a guy shoots up the NHL draft board and you missed out on him early in our draft. To me it's really no different if you trade a guy when he's free agent before he ends up somewhere...every decision here isn't with some risk. Unless we plan on moving the draft two or three weeks before the real draft...this is going to happen.

Andersen issue brought to CC.Mike wroteCOLONYou may bring up the issue in the CC if you wish it.
To avoid further confusion, the guys Lee mentioned before (Damien Brunner, Leo Komarov, Joonas Järvinen, Niklas Svedberg) are eligibile for our Waiver draft and not for the current Entry draft.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
If tthe said player is still NHL draft elidgible we should allow this...
Brunner Komorov Jarvinen Svedberg are not NHL draft eldigible therefore there mention is irrelevant.

Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Good on Chris...he got the guy that fits this example (Khaira). I saw him as maybe a 5th round pick...I had a bunch picks in that round and figured he'd be worth a flier later. Then yesterday I see the Oilers pick him early in the 3rd. I will say without hesitation, I was hoping to get him at my next pick.

I actually was hoping to get him with one of my last 2 4ths all along. Very glad he was still around.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
IMO if he's NHL draft-eligible, it's legal, otherwise it's not.
But it's hard to go against what is written down in our rules. So we'll see how this one plays out

Problems is, we use our own rules and not the NHL CBA.Shep wroteCOLONIMO if he's NHL draft-eligible, it's legal, otherwise it's not.
Otherwise there wouldn't be a BBKL CBA along with the rest of the current rules never added to it.
The old rule about entry draft eligibility as written in the BBKL CBA was actually more different from the NHL CBA than the one proposed and accepted in June 2011.
Still, in the reworded rule the caveat that applies to Andersen was left out as the CC was aiming to simplify things and make the Waiver draft more relevant by increasing its talent pool.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Berg is up for another 40 mins, then Tony is up.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I enjoy drafting who I want, when I want.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
PIT's 4th round pick canceled.
Bergey (NJ) skips, can pick at any time within the next 30 picks.
Tony is on the clock!
Please note, from now onward (5th round) the timeframe for each pick drops to 8 hours.

Yeah, I just sent him my post earlier when I was going to draft him back in the 4th round.
