Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
Love the guy, love his character. He is my favourite during his time in Toronto and he is soooo good when he is on his game. And i remember when we traded up to draft him he gives us high hopes on the future of the leafs. He will be missed and surely will feel sour when he crushes one of our players during the game =(

Loved Schenn in the blue and white. Too bad he had Ron fucking Wilson as his head coach for all those years...
Wouldn't surprise me if he turns into a fucking monster in Philly.

Re: Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
thank you for being a shutdown defenceman who couldn't pk...
loved the pick at the time of the draft though. i agree he's a great guy and it sucks seeing team players like him leave, but it seemed like his upside wasn't going to be as high as we first thought.

I'll mis him, loved Luke in the blue&white.
Talk about an awesome rookie, typical sophomore, and a solid 3rd year player; i'll just leave out year 4 because that shouldn't be the entire memory and it's already been stated here.
He's a good sask-boy: tough, hard-working, honest & self-sacrificing. IMO he'll be a hell of an NHLer for a long time, as soon as he gets his confidence back. If he ever improves his release time, his shot will be awesome. And until this season his breakout pass was quick and sufficient. He stood up for teammates, made momentum changing hits, and was our best defence against the cycle. A personal fear of mine is that he winds his way onto the LAK where DD returns Luke to his full glory Summit-Series and WJC play, as one of the most beast shut-down D I've ever seen.
I was front row when he peek-a-boo punched some 20 year old russian following a cheap shot on Claude Giroux, felt like I was watching my son lose a fight as his knees buckle getting fed by Rob Davison, jumped off my couch when he went Bobby-Orr versus the Senators. Hell I was PUMPED when we picked him, and think he's got a good mentor,in Chris Pronger, now. I'd wage we hate playing Philly for one more reason now.

Re: Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
As others have said, I appreciate the time Luke Schenn spent with the Leafs, and the effort and heart he brought to the rink every night. I would be lying if I said I was upset about the trade, I think JVR will make this team better, and IMO Schenn tops out as a bottom pairing defenceman with huge minutes on the pk. Nonetheless, I wish him the very best in Philadelphia, and hope this trade works out for both teams.

I appreciate that he landed us jvr.
Re: Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
Rielly + JVR >> Schenn + Forsberg imo. Not bad moves by Burke.
Re: Luke Schenn Appreciation Thread
But yeah Schenn's got a lot of potential to be that girtty shut down dman every team wants, interested to see what he can do moving forward in Philly.

JVR....
He has got to be one of the most overrated players in the NHL at this point in time.
