People view assets differently. Simple as that.

Apparently I'm not magic like the rest of you, I can't predict what prospects and picks are going to do. I can use the stats and knowledge that are out there.

Thus, NHLers > all.

according to that logic, the fact a team like Toronto holds 8 first rounders is completely irrelevant, despite the obvious fact Mike could trade all of them for, guess what, NHLers...

NHL teams form the bulk of the vote, but you need to consider prospects and picks in terms of assets. Think about it when you are pricing a house the house itself is the tangible asset, but the location and the opportunity for the property to acquire value needs to be considered as well right.

Again, I cannot tell the future. I don't know what Mike is going to do with those assets. Why am I to assume he's going to parlay them into 4 stud NHLers?

If my judgement is so fucked up, then I'll end up picking teams that nobody else does and thus be a non-factor in the entire thing.

Once again, I'll vote whichever way I want. Don't see how it makes a difference..

If my vote is swinging something one way or the other, obviously other people are voting similarly to me. So who cares?

If not, then all my vote is is one step closer to reaching 20 and moving on to the next team.

All this is is a dick measuring contest anyways. Whether I measure your dicks with a ruler, a tape measurer or a dresser, it's still the same size and you'll still get people that like it and don't like it.

lol..

You're missing my point.

If I vote my own way, and am making a swing vote, breaking a tie, etc, then obviously people have a similar mindset then me. So who cares?

his aggression is because you are being a choch. He took all things, including prospects, into conisderation while looking at the teams and voted.... what more can you ask for? In fact that is exactly what you asked for. Just because he values how each criteria is relevent differently then you do and stated it, does not mean he is not playing by the rules or trying to destroy a fun activity. Gahh man give your head a shake.

That being said Dallas is my vote for 30th.

Josh has this irritating need to have control over a process that is based on no one's opinion but his own. Sad. Oh well.

I've not done a lot yet because I'm waiting for more of the offseason to shake out and so I know how much salary I'll probably have to add but a lot of that rests on what happens with the new CBA. I've got quite a few fringe free agents that I'm waiting to see if they get an NHL gig or sign overseas. As more things are determined, I'll be more active. I very well may be the worst team right now...I wouldn't blame anyone who feels that way...but there is still quite a bit to be sorted out.

I'll vote for my team at 30th right now.

I think you're a 29th place team right now. Even higher actually -- you made mistakes in the past that crippled your leverage over time. However, you've slowly improved and resisted the urge to upgrade for short-term fixes. As far as I'm concerned, your will-power, recognition of mistakes, and the respect you've earned from the majority of GMs here means your team is far better than you're willing to give yourself credit for.

Good luck this year, Scott.

Shook, he said he was voting purely based on the NHL roster I simply said thats not how everyone else was basing their votes, and doing so makes the results different. He claimed his votes wouldn't be different from anyone else's which is fair enough, if that's how it works all the way to the top cool. If he values them differently its fine, I just asked that people vote based on that so that its consistent. Having to pull teeth to do anything in this league seriously detracts from having fun it in.

Josh has this irritating need to have control over a process that is based on no one's opinion but his own. Sad. Oh well.
Weird I thought you had quit and would fuck off, too bad. Anyways I guess I'll address this since you seem to have some sort of vendetta against me and post in multiple threads trying to get a rise out of me. This process is based on each person's opinions, I tried to lay out rules to make it clear on how to vote because in previous threads there were issues about how to vote, what exactly to base your opinion on. This doesn't concern you as you are not a GM and have no vote but thanks for coming out.

Josh I thought you instruction were clear enough, and shep basically clarified that in his opinion NHL roster dominance trumps prospect dominance. Pretty similar to what you laid out, just said in less detail and perhaps even less value on prospects -> but thats his opinion. Similar to how I ignore some prospects others consider gems.
