Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Weber accepts an offer sheet from philly >100 mill over 14 years
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Depending on numbers that seems to be under the 4 1st rounders threshold? $7,835,220 I believe?
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
wow huge.... now if pronger is healthy watch out
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
well 100mil is about 7.15, so if it's 100+ I'd figure ~7.5mil.
I'd guarantee Poile matches this. They can't lose Suter and Weber. They couldn't have expected to be getting Weber at less than 7.5mil, and if they want him locked up long-term, here you go. Philly did the easy part.
Now, if it's like 8.5+ per year, then shit could get interesting.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Folks are saying for offer sheet compensation purposes just 5 years are used for determining compensation so it would definitely be 4 1stss. I haven't read the CBA in ages so I'm not sure.Shep wroteCOLONwell 100mil is about 7.15, so if it's 100+ I'd figure ~7.5mil.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think the actual total dollar value could be the issue for the preds here -> they might not be able to finance that deal!!!!
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I think this was just weber getting the contract he wanted out of pollie, you know pollie matches and makes shea a pred4life

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
yes i think under the CBA it's only $100mil / 5 years.. so this must be 4 1st..

I can't remember for sure, but isn't max single player salary 20% of the cap? If so they could be looking at $14,040,000 for the first season or two...shooker wroteCOLONI think this was just weber getting the contract he wanted out of pollie, you know pollie matches and makes shea a pred4life
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
oh wait i am a dummy.. i think the conversation goes like this...
Holm: "I feel lonely Poile"
Poile: "Want a blow job?"
Holm: "At what cost?"
Poile: "We can't find a way to sign Weber for the long term.. how about you made an huge offer sheet to him and we will match it?"
Holm: "That's it?"
Poile: "Yes that's it and you not feel lonely tonight. To make it better I will stay for with you for a few days"
Holm: "Deal!"

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
yup thats correct. I just dont see how nsh won't find a way. its a growing market, take out your best two players and well it could kill the fan base. They have to match.Mike wroteCOLONI can't remember for sure, but isn't max single player salary 20% of the cap?
