cabrera-rasmus-bautista, and yea bonifacio is our 2B but maicer izturis is better at defence so who knows how much time they split.Shoalzie wroteCOLONSo, who is your outfield now? Cabrera-Rasmus/Gose-Bautista? Bonafacio can play in the infield...maybe he's your 2B?

2nd base isn't an issue imo, we have 2 guys who can play that position. If anything we need to upgrade Lind and another starter.

BA in isolation is a pretty meaningless statistic. Besides, the Jays are set at 2B, Bonafacio and Izturis provide above average production at 2B if platooned.Nick wroteCOLONjust a solid 2nd baseman who can bat .300 and the team is SICK.

In a perfect world, the Jays add one more power bat to the lineup to replace Adam Lind, but the opportunity also exists to sign an inexpensive platoon mate for Adam Lind, such as Jonny Gomes. Lind is horrific against LHP, but has an OPS of .795 against RHP for his career.

Barry Zito is owed 20M next season, and has produced 0.3 WAR the last two seasons combined, with an xFIP over 4.70 in the NL West. Why in the world would you want Barry Zito? You honestly couldn't have picked a SP who provides less WAR/$ if you tried.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONI wouldn't mind taking a run at Zito, he certainly isn't what he use to be, but he could be a very solid middle/bottom or the rotation type of guy we need.

I thought Zito was a Free Agent, there is no way we bring him in if his contract is that high.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONBarry Zito is owed 20M next season, and has produced 0.3 WAR the last two seasons combined, with an xFIP over 4.70 in the NL West. I'm still high on Marcum, would love to land him this summer.

I don't think Rogers is done by a long shot. If you're going to open your wallet and come this far, you better swing for the fences. I predict at least 1 of another starter and/or upgrade of lind is coming.

i agree, our batting order is missing a left-handed power bat. Bonifacio had a pretty nice OBP last year and he can steal a lot of bases too.

Shaun Marcum is a good candidate because of his familiarity with the team, but I would prefer Brandon McCarthy because he is a flat out better pitcher, and can likely be had for a cheaper contract, on a short term deal.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONI thought Zito was a Free Agent, there is no way we bring him in if his contract is that high.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONBarry Zito is owed 20M next season, and has produced 0.3 WAR the last two seasons combined, with an xFIP over 4.70 in the NL West. i'm a fan of both McCarthy and/or Marcum, i just hope we target one more starter, i dont have a lot of faith in Johnson returning after this year.

Blue Jays bring back John Gibbons as Manager.

It's a great decision, John Gibbons is a tremendous tactical manager. He manages the bull-pen well, utilizes platoon splits effectively, places importance on OBP, particularly at the top of the lineup, and does not create outs by sacrifice bunting alot.
