Help with my money league.
Help with my money league.
Don't really like the scoring system, but its hard to find a decent money league.
I pick 6th out of 12th (SUCKS) and its a snake draft.
Any suggestions?

Re: Help with my money league.
Lundqvist is the only goalie is take at 6 IMO. If he's there, it's a huge steal as I'd have him #1 overall.
Lundqvist, Stamkos, Malkin are the big 3. If any drop scoop them up. I hate picking mid round, your left with the non elite players, and the quality from 6-12 is practically the same.

Hat tricks and shorty's = focus on hot handed shooters. #6 is rough, I'd consider Gaborik & Nash, Karlsson and other scoring dmen very early as well (a dman point is worth an extra category). So taking Karlsson, Green, Doughty, Weber, etc early could cover a gap lost by not getting Stamkos or Malkin.

The -2 for a loss is what caught my eye the most.Nick wroteCOLONHat tricks and shorty's = focus on hot handed shooters. #6 is rough, I'd consider Gaborik & Nash, Karlsson and other scoring dmen very early as well (a dman point is worth an extra category). I think the rangers are super stacked this year and will be regular season powerhouses. Lund can pull off a good amount of shutouts and get you 5-10ish points a game, without the -2.
I'd focus on getting goal scoters later. Like a Moulson (lock for 30 g pace) can be a great later round pickup

Thanks guys, guy backed out and I just got in tonight. Draft is Wed night at like 10:30, so I have time still to pull some numbers one of my buddies made a pretty good sortable stats program so I can find out who exactly will dominate in this scoring style. I agree with Lundy and Karlsson, they are who I was thinking actually anyway.

Shit, I take Jonathan Quick at 6 too ... you're looking at about 70 starts with 35 to 40 wins, he led the league in SOs with 10 last year and was what, 2nd in GAA? WIth wins at 3.5 and SO 4, I think it's a safe bet. Lundqvist is a sexy pick who may get taken before you get a chance.Phion Keneuf wroteCOLONLundqvist is the only goalie is take at 6 IMO. Re: Help with my money league.
Pekka Rinne.
He lead the league in Saves last year, he'll start 42/48 games. He'll get you 25 wins and 5 shutouts.
The difference between Lundqvist and Rinne is Rinne had 300 more saves than Lundqvist that's a huge difference. The GA brings the gap a bit closer but still gives Rinne a 20pt advantage between SV/GA. Also, Torts plays Biron a fair amount for a back-up behind the best goalie in the NHL. So I think Rinne gets more starts, so by default will make more saves and have the opportunity at more wins and shutouts.
I also say Rinne because I feel Lundqvist will be gone and you may be getting the better statistical goalie out of it in the end.
After, try and get Perry, Ryan, Eberle, Toews, Nash. All a lock for 30 goals with the upside of 40+. You'll miss out on the other studs like Kovy, Kessel, Parise and Gaborik I'd assume. But Moulson is an underrated goal-scorer. 30, 31 and 36 goals in the last 3 seasons respectively. He's trending up and playing with a superstar that is trending up. Look for Tavares to score 90+ points and Moulson to hit 40 goals this year.
Also, laugh all you want, but if Semin is there in Round 4 you have to consider it. Other than the small amount of time Semin played with Ovy/Backstrom, he was routinely playing with Perreault and Chimera (actually his highest frequency of play-time last season) and other plugs of that nature. Now he'll have either one of the Staals down the middle with Skinner or Jokinen. Looks like right now it might be Tlusty-E.Staal-Semin, which is great because Tlusty has looked awesome in Carolina and will pick up some garbage goals.
