Kessel is a great player of course. But hes more a comlimentary player that you add to a team who already has most of its core building blocks
Complimentary players don't finish 6th in scoring.

Bandaids? Luongo is EASILY a top 10 goaltender in the NHL.
I guess you didnt fully understand what i was saying...

Lou would be good for the leafs for another , 3 or 4 years. Then when hes old and on his way out we are right back to the exact same position we have been in since belfour retired. Looking for a goalie.

The leafs are also not anywhere near talented enough to win the cup. So why waste any assets for lou? Why not just see what we actuaLly hVe in reimer? If he sucks we likely get a good pick.if he is good.bonus!
Based on what teams have been offering for Luongo, we wouldn't be breaking the bank unless Nonis ups his offers. I'm not worried about over-paying for Luongo.

Our team has never, ever had a problem scoring for the past couple years. It's been our goaltending and PK that has absolutely crippled us. If we just get the same offence as the last 2 years with Top 10 goaltending, we easily make the playoffs as Carlyle has implemented a much better defensive system. Even Kessel is playing above average defensively this season.

Leafs are not a cup contender, but give them Luongo and they make the playoffs in 6th place. Lu gets hot and who knows.

In the end, I doubt Luongo ever becomes a Leaf. It'll be Theodore+ __ for Luongo

That would be terrible lol. Vancouver can't afford to have 9M+ tied up in goaltending. They will have to sell Luongo at a discount eventually.

9m is pretty cheap to solidify the most important position on the ice. Ovechkin makes that much and is doing what for the caps atm? he doesnt even play center ...

Sure they can Shep, Kessel did it last year ;) hehehehe

Anyways, im just glad Ron Wilson is not our Coach any longer.

edit: Reimer has looked pretty good so far this year. I like how the new goalie coach (i was only half paying attention during the game while i was watching it at 1am...) has asked him to take a step out of the crease so that he is not so deep in his net. He also seems to be a bit quicker this year...

I quite like Kessel, but to me he looks like one of those guys who has a really small cock, and therefore, is lacking the true swagger of an elite player. The talent is there, but the confidence is lacking because of this issue.
