87 points after he was drafted. does that mean greg mckegg, mike cazzola, jordan skellett, chris mackinnon dominated and terrorized the OHL this year? not exactly...
stajan put up better numbers his final OHL year in fact.
and couture taking pavelski's spot? not happening any time soon bro. fact is he's stuck in a 3rd line role for the immediate and foreseeable future.
ISS had him #7 NA at midterm and CSS had him #11NA midterm...nowhere near concensus overall #1...
let me know you want me to stop punching holes in your arguement though.
if i'm kez, im taking the bluechip prospect, the second solid prospect, and the 1st rounder and running for my life.
I'm almost emberassed for you right now...Citing stats as proof for peformance...Really Anton, Really? Logan Couture is a dominant three zone player, one who was constantly praised by Kilrea for his character and leadership. For most of his career in Ottawa he had no one to play with, and was heavily relied on, not only to score and make those around him better, but also to defend the defensive zone, an aspect of the game that is greatly emphasized by Brian Kilrea, particulaurly from his centerman. Further consider that Logan Couture suffered through severe injuries in the early portion of his career, and it's easy to understand why you cannot judge Logan Couture's potential merely on his OHL statistics, although all things considered they were fantastic, and this past season he more than silenced his critics with one of the best AHL performances from a rookie in some time.
There is a reaosn Logan Couture went 9th overall, and was ranked top 5 for much of the year, meanwhile Stajan and Mckegg were forcasted as second and third round picks. Your inability to distinguish this is puzziling to say the very least.
As for the rankings, perhaps I got the season wrong, but I distinctly remember Couture mentioned in the running for top 5 prior to his concussion, as well as being a strong consideration for #1 with Espo and Cherepanov. Regardless, it was much higher than the projected selctions of Matt Stajan and Gregg Mckegg.
Anyways, I'm done arguing, anyone stupid enough to compare Couture to Stajan/Mckegg, and further discredit Couture based on point totals alone is not worth the time of day.
