It's nice to not have to force Howard into the playing both ends of a back-to-back...especially on the road. First full game for The Monster and I was satisfied. I think the Wings have really tightened up defensively as a team. Special teams are still a bit weak but they've come a long way from the opening night massacre against the Blues.

Gotta love the state of the West...win a game and go from t-8th to t-4th. If you're Colorado or Calgary...you're thinking that adding O'Reilly to your lineup might just be the difference in making the playoffs. Yeah, they're in the lottery but they're also 3 and 4 points respectively out of 8th place. The Avs will be a team to watch in the "second half".
