btw, i'd like to avoid 3 or 4 yrs of Eastern GMs whining about the different odds in the 2 conferences, so why not making the wild cards for 4th division spot a league-wide thing instead of a conference thing?

The NHL does things that way because of travels and time zones, but we don't share those problems..

or we could leave one of Detroit/Columbus in the West. But i know Nick would hate it cause it would complicate the schedule.

I'll deal with the schedule either way.

However regarding the eastern teams bitching... let them - it's not worth losing this aspect. Same league layout and playoff structure as the NHL is a given IMO.
