Re: The CBA
I'm going to reply here cause i'd like the announcement thread to stay as clean as possible (and i don't have mod's power to manage it)..
Personally i would, as we have the same number of teams as the NHL, the same max number of players, and the same number of draft picks.
However, the age thing could only be applied at roster submission, like we do for waiver exemption.
But a in-season limit control was not applied this past season anyway, cause no one is going to keep checking and counting all players under contract for each team during the season.
this is what the new official NHL CBA states:Lee wroteCOLON90 with 50 contracts?
Are we adopting sliding contracts yet?
it is yet to be determined if the bolded part will be implemented by us.Not more than 50 Players signed to an SPC and not less than 24 Players and 3 goalkeepers under an SPC. Age 18 and age 19 Players who were returned to Juniors, and who have not played 11 NHL Games in one season, shall be exempt from inclusion in the 50 Player limit.

seems like a good topic to start up in the CC

Re: The CBA
Also; what of CHL level prospects signing pro deals mid season? Do those count towards the 50 contract limit?
For example: I have 50 contracts. CHL player X signs in December for the current year. bringing me to 51. Should I have to move AHL player Y who is NHL contracted because player X signed, bringing me over the 50 limit?

Re: The CBA
personally i don't think it should be the case, simply because it's not manageable without putting into it way more effort than the worth it provides back.Lee wroteCOLONAlso; what of CHL level prospects signing pro deals mid season? Do those count towards the 50 contract limit?

In theory, this is how it worked in our league in the past (well, for contracts signed for the current season, not in the current), but reality is no one was checking throughout the season if each team was within the 50 limit during the season, when signings were happening left and right outside of bbkl-GMs control.
Besides, when it comes to CHL level prospects, counting their signing would be against what the NHL does.. as in the NHL they don't contribute to the total number of contracts until they exceed 10gp in one nhl season.
Re: The CBA
I've had to make moves based on that scenario in the past, that's why I ask.
Re: The CBA
heh, it's not like we haven't an ongoing thread there already.. i'll just add onto that one, but these last posts are actually not saying anything different/new from my side.Fair Deals S wroteCOLONI would as well
