What a crazy ending...lost in two big money pools in the matter of a minute.

love it. I absolutely hate the Bruins. I don't think I've ever smiled harder then when I saw Marchand looking super disappointed lol. Hawks deserve this cup, amazing team with players that come up big when it matters. Awesome playoffs overall, a lot of great series.

Kinda wonder why Quenneville would want to keep Toews and Kane apart anymore when you see how they sparked them to rallies against Detroit and Boston. Have to believe if they lose Bickell and probably Stalberg, they've got to be hot for a 2nd line center so they could keep Toews and Kane together (I'd put Saad on the other wing) and just stick the new guy between Sharp and Hossa and keep Bolland as a 3rd line center.

Danny Briere screams out to me as a great option for them...veteran guy that would love a shot at a title and is still very offensively skilled. They struggled on the power play and he'd help there and the guy is a proven playoff monster. They'd be close to unstoppable if they could make that happen.

No problem with Chicago winning it all...best team literally from Day 1. I feel a little bit of pride that the Wings were the closest to knocking them off but pissed that they could knock them off in three tries.

Great point Shoalzie. Briere on Chicago would be amazing.

You forget Shaw, Q relied pretty heavily on him and using him as a 2/3 centre spares them a lot of cap they'd need to spend to bring in another guy (under 600k). He's better than Briere as well as being probably 2mil cheaper. Use that cash to re-sign one of Bickell or Stalberg.

Shaw seems like a solid 3rd line guy as well...hated that guy against the Wings but he and Bickell knocked off their cheap crap and played good hockey and helped get them through that series. They might need to go the veteran route for a 2nd line center...that's what the deadline's for. They got Handzus for a cheese sandwich and he was adequate but probably didn't belong on the 2nd line but that's because Bolland isn't suited for the role either.

Shaw could be a 2nd line center option but do you want him going head to head with the likes of Mike Richards or <insert quality #2 center here>. I think they can put together a quality third line with him and Bolland and maybe Stalberg or Frolik.

Stalberg had a pretty weak playoff...they might be able to keep him on the cheap. Bickell is going to get overpaid by someone desperate...didn't produce as much in the final but then you find out he played on a tricked knee. Frolik and Kruger really impressed me this playoff...both were unsung heroes.

I'd say it worked pretty well. They did just win a cup!
