Over the long term I like this alot for Scott, Toews isnt that much better than Koivu to justify adding Seto, Bennett and a top 10 pick.

Selanne is a nice piece, but hes only got one more year left, severely limiting his trade value. This is the type of move a deep team makes, not the NYI. IMO anyways.

by the time we know the result of the condition the 2013 would be trade-able i figure.

Surprised Scott took on the 6.75 salary of Koivu but good hockey deal, especially long term for Scott. Bennett definitely helps swings the deal I think, but makes Tony a much better team almost instantly.

Any by that logic I can make a condition saying if this prospect doesn't play x amount of games by 2015 you get a 2016 pick? Personally I'd rather not open that can of worms.
