Re: projections
I think you, MTL, CLB, FLA, NYI, OTT will all be fighting for those last two spots. It will be interesting for sure. The shitty part about the east is that even if you win it, it's not exactly a prize because of the quality of teams you have to face in round 1.KapG wroteCOLONYah columbus is good. I agree with everything you said there 100%. Gonna be a fun and VERY competitive year!SuperMario wroteCOLONI think you, MTL, CLB, FLA, NYI, OTT will all be fighting for those last two spots. Ye...win the east, face CBJ who made the cup finals outta the west last year = brutal.SuperMario wroteCOLONI think you, MTL, CLB, FLA, NYI, OTT will all be fighting for those last two spots. Come 2nd in the east, face MTL who could contend for the division title... not much of an advantage.
Re: projections
I have a question regarding play-off tie-breakers.
I know for rounds 1,2, & 3 the tie goes to the higher seat (home ice), and I get that it's the only real benefit that's earned from the regular seaosn...w/e unless someone has a fair option I'm okay with that.
However for our cup finals, I would hate for the deciding factor to be more regular season categorical wins. I'd rather it was paper-rock-scissors, LOL. Anyone have any suggestions?

No, considering the tie-break was used in the finals this year.Nick wroteCOLONHowever for our cup finals, I would hate for the deciding factor to be more regular season categorical wins. I'd rather it was paper-rock-scissors, LOL. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: projections
I definitely put MTL in the playoffs over FLA and NSH over PHX at this point. Injuries and trades can happen but at this point I think they are both locks for minimum 7 and 8 positions. I put Mik at the 6 spot in the west. Assuming he doesn't have weeks with 0 goalie games like last season of course.
I also put Bergs in the 4 spot in the east. I think his team is under rated and will surprise a few people this season. Hell, he knocked out who imo was the best team in the east during last years playoffs and has only gotten better since.

Re: projections
your team is sick on paper, you just gotta hope the injury bug doesnt hit some of your players...guys like Michalek, Ruutu, bolland, Hall always get hit with freak accidents.
Re: projections
yup not bad at all Kyle. I still think Chuck has ya beat though. injuries and head to head matchups will be key if you want that 8th spot.
Re: projections
yah its close, our teams are pretty similar.
Only guys who are really injury prone on there for me are michalek, bolland and ruutu. Ruutu finally got his hips repaired so he should be OK this upcoming year. gonna be interesting!
Im not worried about hall getting injured. It could happen but he's really reigned his game back some and isn't quite as reckless anymore.

Re: projections
Also is maturing, filling out his frame and getting stronger - should be notably more durable. Coming in as a 110% 18year old would test anyone's durability, and it ended up being a freak fall during a fight that started off his reputation. Shoulder is a legit concern, but getting stepped on by a skate is (I hope) a one-off.
