NHL Gm's either believe or just feel they have to agree with you. I personally believe in paying someone what they are worth, not what they might be worth. "signs" to me is just another way of saying potential, would have rather seen a two year 4 or 4.5 even.

I'd normally agree with you 100%.

But this is RNH. If he starts living up to his potential (which is very likely), EDM would have had to pay him 8-9M in 2 years time for an 8 year term. This is a great contract. It's up to Hall, Eberle and RNH to take the team to the next level now.
