NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I don't think Peter has looked good this year, but to end last year I thought he was progressing very well, and he's definitely going to be given a proper shot with our current situation.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
from what i've read he's looked dominant in the AHL (like usual) but not in the NHL.
The ducks scouts said he needed to be used in a top 6 role, not a bottom 6 plug role - which he was being used in (at the NHL level). They said he'd be a top contributor if used in the top 6 at the NHL and has loads of talent.
now i know very little about Holland, but that's just a few of the things i've read this morning

Two suspenable plays at once. Dont know how you didnt see that coming.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONKadri suspended 3 games
WTF
that's fucked, i thought 1 game at most
Great trade for Toronto though. Holland wasnt played in the situations needed for his success. I think he will be a good player for yo guys.

Holland is projecting as a top 6 C with good hands but not afraid to take the body as well. The biggest concern in Anaheim about him was consistency issues.

At the time each was drafted Holland was touted as having more upside than Colborne IMO.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONdoes anyone know if his upside is more than Colbornes? i'd think it must be?Chuck Norris wroteCOLONHolland is projecting as a top 6 C with good hands but not afraid to take the body as well. According to paul hendricks or whatever his name is, he's in tonight but not sure what line he's Centering.
I'd imagine he'll slot in between jvr and kessel

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
i like this deal much more if we restrict holland to less than 25 games. once the boys get back, send him to the Marlies so we can retain our 2nd.

Leaf management isn't smart enough to think of that...anton wroteCOLONi like this deal much more if we restrict holland to less than 25 games. once the boys get back, send him to the Marlies so we can retain our 2nd.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
well there would be no reason to add that clause in there unless they planned on doing so, so....

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
he'll be worth the 2nd if he's playing well...i'll take a guy who plays his way into the NHL over a guy we could send down.
i hope he comes in with something to proves and sticks!

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Like Steve alluded to, we're better off if he comes in and finds form, makes it impossible for us to send him down. But if he's not playing well, smart clause by nonis to retain some value
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Yep, exactly. The hope is that he plays well enough to stick with the big club for the rest of the year.Nick wroteCOLONLike Steve alluded to, we're better off if he comes in and finds form, makes it impossible for us to send him down.
