Probably gonna pass. The deal I was going after was Bailey + the 2nd, but doesn't look like that will happen. Like you said, atleast we tried.

Offer is on the table for anyone else who wants a productive guy - late first, don't care about the year or a 2nd round pick + a 2nd equivilent ( recent (1-2 years 2nd round pick). Years of the picks are irrelevant.

I want to like Phillips but I've not read a single positive thing about him or his development. He was a long term project when he was selected and hasn't made many strides forward since.

he seems to be doing OK in the AHL, their team sucks, and he's their top scoring C.

I'd offer that it says a lot more about the state of their farm system than the progress of Mr Phillips.

Updated after acquiring Justin Schultz.

Philip Samuelsson
Tyler Johnson
Mathieu Perreault

Byron and Samuelsson and Johnson are waiver exempt. All 5 players are making around 1 mil or less and are playing in the NHL.

WIll add Tyler Johnson to this list as well. He is killing it with Tampa this year. Waiver exempt, under 1 mil, yadda yadda

Also adding Mathieu Perreault to the list. Center, cheap, yadda yadda. Had an offer on him recently. Goal and an assist tonite. 3 hits , 89% from the dot.

Zach Trotman also recalled and played an excellent game. With Seids gone for the year, he may stick.

Lol...Only reason he got the call was because Miller didn't have his passport when Providence was on the road. Emergency callup. He looked all right though..

Preds' Suter Scoring Steadily

Ryan Suter dished out a pair of assists and went plus-3 Thursday against Buffalo, his third straight game with a point.

He'd scored his first two goals of the year in the prior two games. Ryan Suter's quite hot right now, having recorded a point in 10 of his last 11 contests after suffering through an extended slump in late November and early December.

Stat line from last night: 3 +/-, 2 A, 2 BS, 2 Hits, 2 PIM, 2 PTS, 2.52 SHTOI, 4 SOG
