Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONya i'm not complaining, so no one should take this as an attack, i know doing the schedule is tough, a lot of work goes into it. I'm just saying i wouldn't mind playing a few more teams from different divisions..
nick is only following how the NHL does it, i'm just tossing out a personal opinion, and stating that i woudln't mind playing a few more teams next season.
In nicks defense, I think this is the least amount of schedule complaining I have heard in any year. I think that is a good sign and probably means he did his best job ever.
The schedule this year and its design was to balance the schedule as much as possible. By playing everyone in your conf and only one division in the opposite conf things are as balance as they possibly could be. While this may hurt or help divisions from year to year, atlantics inflated numbers vs pacifics numbers becoming worse because of the great atlantic/weak pacific, it at least creates a closer balance inside each division. Last year, in a shortened season i faced 4 more top 10 teams then Steve, I chose to rebuild before the year started as I had zero chance to win the division and would also have a harsh playoff matchup. This schedule helps that.
My only complaint would be that the wests double games were against the opposite division. We only have 14 weeks so doubles are a must, I'd just rather have played ANA or LAK again over stl and col, more ramifications when playing division. Minor complaint though.
Like shiv said, suggest things to nick. Our current schedule format is based off of past years imput.
