1. Chuck - because I match-up terribly vs him. Very similar teams but he has Carey Price.
2. Mike - I traded Nick Mikko Koivu with the hope that FOW can be a category he wins vs MIke/knocks him out
3. Steve - I don't think I can beat you or Mike in a match-up. I would have to get "lucky" vs you two to win. Vs the rest it's either a coin flip or in my favour
However, I can win the championship if I get certain breaks/someone knocks out the teams that match-up really well against me. It's not like years past when I had one of the top 3 teams in the league.

Agreed. I think the key to building is not even worrying about who you will face in the conference final or final. Just worry about the teams you'll play in Round 1 and Round 2. If you can win those, leave the rest to chance and pray the bounces go your way lol.

Just build around your conference in general, IMO. It's tough to say who you'll play in Round 1 or 2 even going into the final regular season week. Anybody can win in a 1-week H2H matchup, so building vs. your Conference is key and just hope for the best if you make the finals.

Well, under the new playoff format, it's pretty easy to know who your opponents will be. E.g. for me Round 1 vs Chuck, Round 2 vs the winner of NYI vs NYR. But ya we're agreeing along the same lines. I haven't even thought about Mike's and Steve's team while building. They're too stacked. Gotta get lucky.

I don't get Steve's comment's that my team is scoring focused, especially when his team is the top scoring team... I understand I suck at +/- ( thanks to my Sabers + Panther), however the notion that I'm not a h2h focused team was a fair comment last year, not at all this season.
Quick scan shows:
Shook, Shiv, Steve and I are the top teams in BS.
Mike runs away with hits, but the next tier has CAM, Chuck, Hong and me in it. PIMS (broken record) has Mike in the lead, but Dave Shep and me are within striking distance. SHTOI Steve owns, and Shiv has 2nd all to himself,. but once again, Hong, Dave (cliff too) and I are competitive against them in any week, and safe against the rest.
But the truth is, in any given week, The team who is healthy, has the right GP, and a few players get hot (or # avoid going cold) will determine between winning and losing a category, as the differences are not that big.
Injuries can derail anyone's playoff run. Lose your goalie and best player in a tight week, and you'll lose it to any of the top 8 (hell 10) teams in the east.
In regards to Shook's burn, ouch indeed. Too late for a rebuttal.

Really not said with any malice or tone, felt to me like a conversion where someone's perception is perhaps based on something that is no longer the case. It's like by replying with more than a 1 line joke or a GIF is deemed defensive. I enjoy some deeper hockey discussions, not a bbkl member *just* for the trolls and jabs.
