The Slovaks are bad but good for Slovenia on getting their first Olympic win.

Getting jacked up for the big one this morning...big key will be the play of the Russian defense and how they deal with the steady flow of offense from all 4 American lines. The American defense didn't get tested much by the Slovaks but I have more confidence in that group than the Russians. If Quick plays well today, it's gotta be his net for the balance of the tournament.

Lol I set an alarm to wake up and watch this game. Going on 2 hours of sleep. Been looking forward to this game for too long. Could be the final IMO. I think the Americans win 5-3

Damn, this has been good. The Russians are legit...the forwards are controlling play and the pressure has been on Quick and the American defense.

A turning point was the Pacioretty trip after another effective shift by the Oshie-Stastny-Pacioretty line. The Russians built some momentum and it carried through the majority of the period. I loved the selling out on the PK by the Americans...willing to give up the body to block shots.

The Americans haven't been able to build a sustained attack like again Slovakia. A lot of one shot and out trips and the Russians have been scary on the transition game. The Russians scoring their goal on the counterattack.

A great power play to close the period. The Russians have been leaving a dead space to the glove side of Bobrovsky. Kane in the first period and van Riemsdyk in the second have exploited it and the goal scored on that side of the net.
