Re: Block
I still remember back in my inaugural year, I had my very first BIG dealing with Mike regarding JEFF CARTER that I recently purchased from NJD Scott Smith
I initially thought Mike was extremely generous, offering me all kinds of options for JEFF CARTER - I said to myself 'wow! I should deal with this guy more often. He's so flexible and nice'
Turns out, that wasn't the case at all. It was because Jeff Carter was THAT MUCH more valuable than the league perceived lol. Main piece of his going my way was Vinny ++ and I thought already it was pretty even ( I was a big vinny fan without much knowledge on the detriment his contract is to many contenders). Many have told me I should be getting my own pick for JEFF CARTER but I didn't listen. I thought Vinny would save me because JEFF CARTER was going thru some hard emotional times in PHILLY about to be traded to CLB the following several months later.
To CAR:
Vincent Lecavalier
Mattias Tedenby
Patrik Nemeth
2011 OTT 1st
To TOR
Jeff Carter
Fabian Brunnstrom
Marc-Antoine Pouliot
After this deal, I was never able to complete any sort of big deal with him, as I didn't know he was only being nice to me because he was raping this deal.

Re: Block
^ i keep one of those as well, gotta track picks like they are gold these days.
Re: Block
be aware: contenders will in the end, try everything in their might to get the upgrade piece they want while losing as little assets as possible (which includes 1st rounders and GOOD NHLers in sacrifice of gaining the upgrade piece), hence a trade with any contenders isnt really a trade... it is asset dump (for them). A TRADE refers to where one party gives up a significant portion of their asset to gain another significant for improvement.
disclaimer: this is in no way posted, to defamate MIKE in particular but to be a friendly guy to newbies. Happy trading!

Re: Block
Mike once traded me a healthy Matt Read for an injured Curtis Glencross.
The trade worked out excellently.
Also interested in Stuart.
