NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Love the Santorelli signing. He was a good surprise for the Canucks last year, I hope he can bring that same play for us.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
A lot of different views this year on Nonis/Shanny work via trades and UFA signings, so far we have:
Out:
Bolland - 5.5
Kulemin - 4.2
Raymond - 3.3
McClement - 1
Gunnar - 3.3
Total: 17.3
In:
Santo - 1.5
Kontiola - 1.1
Komorov - 2.9
Frattin - 0.8
Robidas - 3.0
Polak - 2.9 (+0.2k retained from Gunnar)
Total: 12.4 mil
And IMO the players we brought in have a higher compete level, are faster, grittier and will work in the corners. The leafs bottom 2 lines are vastly improved IMO.

why? he's fucking awfulArian The Insider wroteCOLONI just wish we still had kulemin
i fucking hated kulemin expect for like a 2 week period this year, and that's only because raymond sucked ass even more and made kuelmin look a little better.
Nonis has done an excellent job at gutting the bottom 6.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Getting offensive minutes in a second line role with Grabbo and Grabner and 2nd unit PP time in NY is going to rejuvenate his offensive game. Big difference between being buried with tough minutes in a defensive role with McClement and playing in a scoring role on the Island. 4M is still a little pricey unless he is putting up 25 goals though.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
shut up paul, i like arian, it was sort of a joke, outside of the fact that i hate kulemin
i scouted kulemin for on 3 different occusions for dallas, once when they came to edm to play the oilers. My final verdict was
"he is one of the worst NHL players i've ever scouted and wouldn't give him a chance on the 4th line"
"his positional hockey is awful, his feet don't match his hands/eyes/stick work"
"he hits like a pussy"
"he's always in the wrong spot"
"he fucking sucks"
the isles fucked themselves when they signed kulemin.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Thing is for the Islanders they can overpay free agents because they need to reach the floor, adding 2/3 of a 2nd line with chemistry is a nice move if it means you spent an extra 2 million over market value.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Big Kulemin fan, I think the Islanders have filled a huge hole in their lineup by signing grabo & kules - add the speed of Grabner and that will be a tough line to play against.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Wouldn't be surprised to see the Isles in the playoffs this season if Halak can give them .915 goaltending. They need another D, but have some extra forwards now to make a deal.
They will be going for it too since Buffalo has their 1st.

It shows why i'm the true NHL scout.
