Scoring change

Post by bills09 »

I know it's late in the year but I propose for the 2015/16 season a change from pim to fighting majors if possible

This would add value to goons and players who legit drop the gloves for their and punish players who take a lot of minor pims which would hurt their team in reality.

Just a thought.

We need to be careful about adding categories because of our magnitude of win scoring system. 32 point spread would become 34.

However I agree majors is a more indicative measure of
Team toughness.

Just out of curiosity, what are some other possible categories we could get from Fantrax?

Saying no outright to change is saying our system is perfect IMO which IMO is not healthy
I like the idea combining hits bs +- as defensive awareness and adding fights and pptoi

I do think we should keep our total categories current though

Also is it possible to make minors a negative stat?
Our goal is realism our current state of pim does not recognize that.
A guy leading the league in minor penalties does not add value to his nhl team.

Again my proposal for change would not be for this current season so teams would have over 1 year to adjust to any changes that would be made. With the switch to fantrax and the flexibility that they provide with many scoring cats why not move towards a better more realistic future of bbkl fantasy hockey. Which current is the best league and most knowledgeable I've ever been apart of.

Sorry for the essay, just my 2 cents

In short my proposal for 2015/16

In
Defensive awareness (hits bs +/- )
Pptoi
Fights

Out bs +/- as they are combined with hits leaving our total catagories the same.

No but it does give value to players used on their teams top power play unit and and increased value to legit top 6 forwards

I think the top 6 ppl already hav their value in this league and shouldn't be given additional value... if those top 6 doesn't have enough value means they suck and they are positioned just fairly right coz they'd be bottom 6 in other teams

Like hong said our top 6 forwards are already valuable enough IMO.

I don't like the idea of combining bs and hits either. Bs is defensive sure but I don't see hits being a defensive category. Doesn't make sense to add them together. Just realized +/- would be included with them too? I don't knooooow bout thAaat.

Makes periph players even more useless as we have now combined two of their cats (3 if u wanna include +/-) into one.
