I think it's more just Kessel and JVR are amazing. Bozak is nothing special and poor defensively which is the only weakness of that line.

Ya ive never never ever been bozak supporter with the kessel chemistry aargument myself. We can always get better and bozak shud never be an end point in our 1st line c search. I cant even begin an argument for this simply but ask, why isnt staal gonna be a ton better?...

I think he is a perfect fit to play with kessel.

You want another shoot first guy with kessel taking his sog? I think k staal and kessel would be a disaster together. Then againI know nothing so w.e.

I respect your opinion Bruyns, but I couldn't disagree with you more. I know what the advanced stats have to say about Bozak's possession game and defensive ability, but I don't see those draw-backs when I watch him play. Bozak is a very smart player who finds Kessel in stride as often as anyone on this team, and positions himself well to cover up for alot of Phil and JVR's short-comings on the defensive end. The play Bozak made to intercept the pass (which ultimately lead to JVR's goal) against the Rangers is a great example of Bozak's positional smarts, and anticipation without the puck. I know alot of people believe it is just a coincidence that Kessel and JVR like playing with Bozak, or poor coaching on Carlyle's part for utilizing him in so many situations, but it's not... Bozak is a good hockey player.

I also dispute the argument that Kessel and JVR can do there thing irrespective of who is in between them. When Kadri played in the middle last season there was a noticeable dip in tempo and production on that line. None of this is to say that I think Bozak is a prototypical #1 C or that we cannot upgrade him, merely that he is more than just a guy who was fortunate enough to play in between two star players.

Same problem as the Leafs, they give up way too many shots against. Their problems stem from the back-end, outside of Barrie and (to a much lesser extent) Johnson the Avs have a hard time exiting their zone consistently on the break-out.

If any team should be in the market for Andrej Sekera it should be the Avalanche, and hopefully the Leafs too :P

Shrug.

Just don't see the need unless we can flip lupul + Gardiner (who I don't even want to move) for him. Would hate to see us lose kadri or bozak in the deal.

I would guess the real NHL is very similar to what we have here. A few clicks, a few GMs who are impossible, a few dicks, a few lowballers, a few fair deal guys, etc...

i'd go as far as saying that what we do for pretend is very close to how a trade actually happens in the real NHL (only it takes months there sometimes for a trade to happen - where it can happen in a day here)
