Really, I thought it was a pretty good return....Antropov isn't all that far behind Carter when all categories are added up...I think the picks and prospects makes up the difference, and help set me up nicely in the future.

but picks and prospects could indeed make up for the difference: it depends how good Urbom and Howden become and, of course, what you will draft with those picks..
hard to judge the trade as of now, aside from stating the obvious: Scott kills it short term.

He certainly does, but my team is/was a borderline team, not really young with potential, and not deep with talent/Vets, and definitely in need of a bump in 1 direction or the other. So I really don't the depth to land another superstar, and even if I did, there are some scary teams ahead of me and I still probably wouldn't be completive. On the other hand I don't really want to tank, but I know I not winning anything this year. So this was a perfect (but very risky) opportunity to still remain some what completive, while stocking up for the future aswell...Antropov got 67pts last year, and does pretty good in most catergores....Now as long as he stays healthy (and now playing with even better line mates) I don't see his production dropping any..
Re: I'm Staying.. Oh, and Trade (I'm dumb): FLA/NJD
Chris, you could've gotten a better return imo.. I'm in a position where I can overpay. That was the plan all along.
Re: I'm Staying.. Oh, and Trade (I'm dumb): FLA/NJD
I don't know, it looks like chris landed a few solid pieces and picks, but Carter is a stud and the guy is only 25, nice deal for scott all the way, not terrible by any means

Re: I'm Staying.. Oh, and Trade (I'm dumb): FLA/NJD
Bergeron is going to get 65+ points this year...along with near league lead in SHTOI and FOW. All i got to say...lol And draft picks are way overrated. With that said i had great discussions with Chris and in hindsight i am glad the deal fell through. So you know what i offered for Carter to compare..Scott clearly beat me out but i feel Urbom is just another stay at home defenseman that won't hold the value that a Gormley or Elliot will bring in H2H with our setup. I think Gormley will be another Jay Bouwmeester (minus last season:))

Brandon Gormley or Stefan Elliot
Benn Ferreiro
Oscar Lindberg or Lovecchio

I guess you're happy your deal fell through.. Getz is an uber beast. But there's no way I would've landed Getz with the package that I landed Carter with, I know that for a fact so I'm still over-joyed with my trade and my team's looking pretty sick. Not superstar power but periphery star power with a killer defense.mr. bruin wroteCOLONBergeron is going to get 65+ points this year...along with near league lead in SHTOI and FOW. It's going to be an interesting year.. imo, there are about 10 teams that could win it this season, I'll leave out names.
I wonder if I'd get a few more votes in a "whose gonna win it all this season" thread now?
Re: I'm Staying.. Oh, and Trade (I'm dumb): FLA/NJD
You are a master or word trickery and mind bending. In other words a very educated salesman May i quote:
Scott: The firesale begins...I am just bored and want to rebuild and go another route.
BBKL: awesome, Scott has all the good players so i can unload some youth and score one, now's the time...
Scott 2 weeks later after emptying his starting roster for youth and a complete gluttony of picks:
hmm...I think I'm good. Now, phase 2, of my 1 month master plan...muahahahah
BBKL: Yea, Scott's team looks weak and even i can beat that. Hes gonna be some good in a few years!
Scott: Phase 2 commence....I will force you to give me your ultimate H2H beasts with awesome contracts and you will accept my massive overpayment of over-rated picks because you just can't say no.
BBKL: Uh oh...I think something just happened. Scotts back and has proven to everyone that you can flip an entire roster in less than a month.
also note the extra psychological tactics in use in this plan: I am joining another league and won't be around as much, and i want to just rebuild for a challenge.
Phase 3 complete.....
Can i just state that I didn't bend on Callahan despite the amazing offers Scott put forward. hehe

Anyways, my problem with this deal isn't so much what you got in return for Carter (although I wouldn't have taken it personally), it was what you gave up initially (Neal, Giroux, Yandle, Weiss), you put those players on your team now and you are among the top contenders, IMO.
