Correct, I wouldn't consider him or Boyle in my long term plans but they're productive players while I have them. I need some established talent around my younger players.

I'd have kept your two over this Scott, but its all been said, no hard feelings about not taking my offers for Lewis.

I know we've talked about Lewis for a while...sorry again, Josh. Him playing top line minutes right now made a him a sell-now guy. Safe to say, he's not going to do that long term. He's probably back to being a 3rd or 4th liner when the dust settles. He'll stay where he's at while the Kings are winning.

Ya but you're banking on one of those players really blossoming (or both for that matter) over the next five years to either boost your team or increase trade value. I don't think you got max value for them and as you'll find out... In reference to Eric's question... Kunitz value in this league isn't great and the bites aren't there. I actually got some decent offers on home earlier in the season but I was in a different mind set and elected to keep him. I dunno if you were actively trying to move him Steve but the market was pretty dead when I was.

Steve essentially flopped zucker + Downie for palmieri + Lewis. Pretty similar bodies going both ways (haven't looked at that stats too much) but The bigger picture is I can't see you getting better than that in the offseason or future. But who knows...

If Kunitz is able to retain his spot and Scott is able to re-sell him for a similar package as a result, then the deal would work out just fine for him so hopefully that wll be the case

His cap hit is digestible for most top teams at $3.85 million. When a contending team wants a 50-60 point player with a reasonable cap hit and they've got assets to move...they know who to talk to.

This deal probably makes more sense if I did it earlier in the year when I didn't have to make up so much ground to move out of 29th place but until last week, I couldn't market Lewis as a 1st liner either. Palmieri has been in and out of the lineup...but he's been good when he plays.

I ban you from acquiring any players over 30 from this day forward, and from trading young players for old players.
