Brad Treliving..

Hes very smart and showed insight on how he wud like to run the team, almost a BBKL-esq type building strategy which I really liked hearing. A 2nd and 3rd next year isn't that steep for someone like Jagr probably to his standards. LL is no slouch in deal talks and he probably milked CGY til he got that kinda return for jagr which is impressive. This is an all-around good hockey deal

Yes. We get cap space by putting Horton on LTIR, which MLSE can easily stomach. The Jackets are a small market team and can't afford to pay a guy that much and not use him. At least Clarkson is a warm body.

Why I would have been happy to get rid of Clarkson for nothing, which this essentially is. Amazing deal for the Leafs going forward, most assumed it was the worst contract in the NHL since it was buyout proof and would be unmovable.
