Schedule
Schedule
Shouldn't the playoffs be starting week 23? This should be our last week since Fantrax is showing 26 scoring periods and we would need 4 periods to do the playoffs (23-26)
Re: Schedule
I brought this to the attention of CC like 3 weeks ago. They said there was a mistake, and that they were talking about it and would bring their decision to the league shortly...but nothing ever happened.

Re: Schedule
We've been debating a number of options. Very close to a decision. Should be announced shortly.

Re: Schedule
I'll shed a little more light on the subject.
The issue stems from an extra week built into the schedule (the games of Week 18) and this issue wasn't addressed until Week 19. The debate over a 22 vs. 23 week season and 1 week vs. 2 week final have been ongoing.
That extra week has a lot non-conference/non-division games that could've been removed. If we chop Week 23, then everyone is going to lose a key divisional matchup to wrap up the season. Obviously the topic of how to handle the playoffs is the big debate.

Re: Schedule
Yeah we dropped the ball on this one. It was missed when the schedule was created, when it was reviewed by peers, and throughout the year as well. All we can do is apologize and fix it.dave1959 wroteCOLONI don't know how you guys don't know this shit way ahead of time...........
Re: Schedule
in all honesty, i might be reading a bit into Dave's frustrations more than I have to, but without getting personal about it I think despite the other great jobs our CC does in our busy competitive league, we could probably use dave (if he permits his time) for a lot of our logistic shortcomings if you guys need somebody like him who is a current Commish in another long running league. I'm saying this because shit can happen... like I know chuck was basically invisible thru first 15 weeks because of his known personal life problems he had to go through (like a few of us know) and we could always use a competent helper in times like this
Re: Schedule
It's not frustration kimmer, it doesn't affect me one way or the other as I am not in the playoffs.
It's just disbelief.

Re: Schedule
I guess according to our resident asian troll hong who made a post in my sacred transactions thread, we are supposed to only play til week 21 i suppose...

We've been guilty of not getting in front of issues in a timely manner. I take the blame for the free agent claim fiasco back in January. I'm actually not in the CC but I'm active in the discussions. We're passed finger-pointing and blame-assigning...the schedule issue just needs to be resolved for everyone's benefit.
Re: Schedule
lol I remember is 21 weeks.. but been busy with other things in my mind...
actually you don't need to bother with the schedule.. just name me the champ this year and just move on into the exciting draft!

Re: Schedule
So I know everyone is a little confused with this right now, but as a first year guy I really have no idea whats going on or what the precedent is here.
So when playoffs start, are non-playoff teams inactive or do their match ups re-shuffle against one another? And if so do those match ups have an impact on the overall standings (AKA draft order)?
Or do our current set matchups persist in fantrax and we do some sort of manual comparison to determine playoff round winners?
Basically I'm wondering if the current scheduled match ups beyond this week have any meaning whatsoever for non-playoff teams. Or if we are done.

non-playoff teams are done, however GP is still counted during the playoffs so anyone under the 1100 minimum should continue to set their weekly lineupFraser wroteCOLONSo I know everyone is a little confused with this right now, but as a first year guy I really have no idea whats going on or what the precedent is here.

Re: Schedule
Thats what I figured. Makes the most sense.
Does fatnrax just force us to initially schedule match-ups until the end of the season, and then it has to be changed once playoff match-ups are set?

Re: Schedule
There are only like 3 1/2 weeks for the playoffs. so unless you are planning on having a 1/2 week for on of the playoff matches, it seems like the best option is to either make week 23 a 1/2 week and thus add the other half to one of the playoff matchups, or just cut week 23 out all together. I am probably missing something, but that seems like the most logical fixes at this point. The sooner it is fixed the better.

Re: Schedule
from what's been reported, it's basically 4 full weeks actually. 6days final week but with an above average # of GP per day.Matthew wroteCOLONThere are only like 3 1/2 weeks for the playoffs.

is that possible on fantrax? it wasn't on CBS
Re: Schedule
Thatll suck if week 23 is canceled..
I've got a huge matchup against the devils that week and then we have Tampa vs Boston and Toronto vs buffalo. Such huge playoff implications!!

I'll echo that...especially for those in their first year in the league. You have to continue to post & track your weekly lineup even if you don't make any more changes. GP runs for the entire season so if you've not reached 1100, you have to work towards that. The standings can change based on if you miss the minimum so don't assume your pick is safe when the regular season is over.

If you want to track your GP for the season, here's the page on Fantrax:
http://www.fantrax.com/fantasy/standing ... u1hu03n6f3
Click the "Season Stats" tab. Your 1100 is from your skaters only so check the stats under "Standings - Skaters".
There is a minimum for goalies but almost every team has reached 41 games. I'm 1 game from the minimum and New Jersey is 4 games away but he should reach that in the next two weeks.
Re: Schedule
I'll be honest, we fucked up and it essentially has ruined the entire season. The fact that our finals is usually 2 weeks and this year it looks like we're going to make it 6 days is absolutely horrendous. What a shitshow.
