Well, if we gonna mimick it, may as well do it properly right? So retention, free agency and buyouts please.LeanMachine wroteCOLONWould like to read a good argument why would should do this. If we are, I'd like free agency and buyouts available to us as well as salary retention please.

Re: VOTE
My favourite option I presented in the past (mainly in CC but also in public) is not available in the poll.
here it was:
Trying to summarize the argument as much as I can:
- the current system doesn't reward winning the matchup, which is not realistic and takes away from the excitement in close matchups.
- a pure WLT, especially on single-matchup weeks, would make most weeks/matchups pointless by destroying the in-week interest in following the matchups, cause most BBKL matchups have an obvious WLT outcome even before starting, or after at most the first couple of days into the matchup. That's particularly true for the best and the worst teams. If you take away the difference between winning 16-0 and 10-6 you make most matchups pointless. This would be horrible for the league entertaining value.
- hence, my favourite system would be rewarding both stats wins and matchup wins, like in the example quoted above. Will call this option 10.
- having a pure WLT system applied to 4 games matchups would be way less worse than applying it to our current schedule, cause most weeks you would still have at least one matchup worth following. So it would still make most matchups useless, but only a few weeks per season would become useless (those where a top team doesn't face any strong team out of his 4 opponents, or a bottom team doesn't face any weak team).
As a result, This is My Vote:
I would prefer the 82 game schedule with a hybrid scoring system like the one quoted above.
here it was:

If option 1 is answered YES: Does scoring value remain the same(ie points for cats regardless of individual value) or do we go to WLT system?
2? 10?
suppose the majority wants to give more weight to the matchup win and vote for 10 (5 for a tie):
NSH-BOS= 8-8
NSH-COL=9-5
NSH-DAL=13-2
NSH-SJ=7-9
NSH pts on the week:
16+5=21 -> 21/21= 1
18+10=28 -> 28/21= 1.333
26+10=36 -> 36/21= 1.714
14+0=14 -> 14/21= 0.667
=> 4.714 out of four games (2W,1T,1L)
the division by 21 is there to make the number added to the standings likeable by those people who seem to have troubles with big numbers.
I guess you could round down the outcoming number to make it cleaner, but that would be choosing aesthetics over substance, so personally i'd rather not.

Re: VOTE
Could definitely get behind the hybrid idea.
Either way I should state I don't have a strong opinion on a wlt format or a categories scoring format. Main thing I want to see is multiple matchups per week

Re: VOTE
I think it is an overwhelming majority wanting an 82 game season. It comes down to how the league wants it scored (WLT, hybrid, no change)

Re: VOTE
Fantrax does not support the points + W-L-T format (hybrid), so whoever is wanting this idea should also be volunteering to compile the data on a weekly basis and display weekly results for us to view.

Re: VOTE
As matt said everyone seems to want to play 82 games, maybe in year 1 we go a full 82 games but keep the current scoring system.
that way everyone is happy

i was saying we all want an 82 game schedule, but the guys who dont really just dont like the WLT format. I think there is a little give and take from every side and we could really have a system that works for everyone.
So to make everyone happy we come to a mutual agreement and go: 82 games with the current points system. That way we are all happy.
Re: VOTE
After all this I just hope the CC implements what the league wants since it would be disappointing to not at least try an expanded schedule next season and see how it goes.

Re: VOTE
My insider info tells me that the CC has been watching this debate closely and they have noticed that the league is in favour of 82 games, they are just watching the debate to see which scoring system we go with.Bruyns wroteCOLONAfter all this I just hope the CC implements what the league wants since it would be disappointing to not at least try an expanded schedule next season and see how it goes.
Points or WLT.
