Yea good contracts for sure. BOS is a preferred player destination so that helps the negotiations along.

The Florida Panthers are holding an amature tryout for any goalie who wants to participate. The winner will receive at least a 1 day contract with the team.

Kris Russell with 15 BS las night lmao! Ridiculous!! Too bad it wasn't against the leafs, we could hear Joe Bowen complain about inflated numbers for the next 5 years.

23 in his last 2 games too. Pure insanity.

Yea I was hearing yesterday that the NHL-NHLPA were talking about adding an extra roster position for next season for a 3rd stringer. Thing is, the owners don't want another salary to pay (obviously). So the talk is that it will be mandatory to have a 3rd stringer in the stands ready to play on an emergency one-day contract (prepared ahead of time) so the FLA situation does not repeat.

Tallon probably just seeing who would be available in the FLA area for such a job. Give him free seasons tickets in exchange for the rare situation of being forced to play on zero notice. Not a bad gig if I played goalie and lived in the area.

Did anyone else know about this rule? I had no idea:

Bob McKenzie: "If Loungo is going to be out for a while, GM Dale Tallon could look to trade for a goalie. Trades are allowed, the player is not playoff eligible."

Never seen a trade happen after the deadline. Wow. So the Panthers could seriously add another good goalie to help them get into the playoffs, but couldn't use the goalie in playoffs. Weird rule.

He was mistaken and clarified it after with a couple other tweets.

"I stand corrected on trading after the deadline. It has to be a free agent signing, not a trade. My mistake."

"If it makes me feel any better for screwing up (it doesn't actually), I had some agents/execs suggest I was wrong about saying I'm wrong."

"Lots of confusion on this one but bottom line is any player can be traded after deadline but not eligible to play in reg season or playoffs."

Maybe I just need to go to sleep but is there no way to sort stats by skaters on a team any more on the NHL website?
