I really don't understand not playing your best goaltender. I get that Columbus has some tough teams to play this week, but how do you not play Bob?

I think Darling has a better chance at posting better stats in 1 or 2 games than your combo rather than Bob&Mc in their 3 games Vs the top 3 teams in the conference.

I don't think CLB would give me a chance at Wins anyway this week..

Because if darling plays one good game or comes in in relief and stops all shots he will win 2 cats automatically

Darling has to actually play in a game first. That is an awfully big gamble to take hoping for Darling to pitch a shutout when he isn't even a guarantee to get a game this week.

I think it is reasonable as long as darling can get at least 1 start.

Mik figured the blue jackets wouldn't get more wins in 3 games against tough opponents than the rangers in 4 games. Darling has a lot better sv percentage and gaa than either of his Columbus goalies, so he forfeited wins for a chance at the other 2 categories. It's really reasonable IF darling gets a start. That IF is the risk.

That is a pretty big IF considering they don't play back to back this week.

Yeah obviously hoping for a one start SO but a big gamble on Mik part especially after Bob had like 40 some saves the other night. Go big or go home!

How is this not breaking the rules? He is not icing his best players. The CC created a rule specifically for this, this year.

Clearly mik's intentions are to get knocked out Of the playoffs early to secure a better draft pick.

Must be a highly touted euro projected to go around 22 in the draft.

No, his intentions are to gain a favourable result by icing an inferior lineup. Kinda like what I was doing, which resulted in the rules being changed. Rules that apparently don't apply to playoff teams.

Great. Next season once I hit minimum games played I will ice nothing but minor leaguers the last few weeks to get a good draft pick. A team will beat me 16-0 for free, and get into the playoffs, while a team who played my full roster (let's say you) gets knocked out because of it. The idea is it debases the league for other teams.

If you wanted to ice a shittier roster you could have traded your better goalie.

Not sure what that has to do with playing a sub optimal line up. He has better goalies in his system. He is not playing his best line up, which is the intent of the rule.

Thus, I'm not sure how he isn't breaking the very rule he helped create. Is it because he is in the play offs?

Should we have different sets of rules for playoff and non play off teams? Different interpretations of existing rules for playoff and non playoff?

Darling has the best stats of all hi goalies actually, but past that, and with all due respect, you are being idiotic. His intent is to win. Your intent is to lose and corrupt a league where the intent of the league is to win. This corrupts the league when you begin to affect the standings of other teams.

I'm sure you are a rational guy, so you can't actually believe what you are arguing.

Lee this is a pretty ridiculous stance your taking right now. He is very clearly trying to put together what he views as his best lineup to win his playoff matchup. Maybe the 82 game value is different in his goaltenders, but he wouldn't be starting Darling if he didn't think it was a favorable option during this week. And while it may be debatable which would be the better way to go, I agree that given his matchup this week this is his best option to win.

Agree 100% with Lee, if Mik did the same thing three weeks ago it would be the exact scenario Lee had his wrists slapped for and the rules shouldn't change for the playoffs.
