Yeah Provorov and Wereinski are nothing to sneeze at but Strome, Marner and Hanafin are a definite step up.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading down, for the right cost. Something to keep in mind, # 6 overall.

Your team is going to become very dangerous soon I think

I need some things to happen for that to happen:

Duchene needs to be a 70 point player, not the 40 point player he was this season
Dubinsky needs to fix his shit and stop being injured
Ward and Khudobin need to atleast pretend that they want to continue their careers in the NHL.
Kindl needs to be bought out and pretend he wants to continue his NHL career.
Meszaros and Hillen need to stop being plugs.

And a bunch more things.

Fraser wroteCOLONIts pretty likely Arizona will be drafting at #3. Will be interesting if they take Hanifin or a forward in that position. Wouldn't surprise me if they took Strome.
They are currently 2nd, but only 3 points up on buffalo and buffalo has a game in hand, so they could finish last. So there will either be a 66% chance they finish 3rd, or a 0% chance based on the last 10 games. Given the percentages they get depending on if they finish 1st or 2nd:

3rd: 66% + 0% = 66%/2 = 33%

2nd: 20% + 80% = 100%/2 = 50%

1st: 13.5% + 20% = 33.5%/2 = 17%

If we consider it a coin toss right now for who finishes last or 2nd in the final standings, then these are the percentages for both Arizona & Buffalo to pick in either of those bottom 3 spots.

I just don't see Buffalo winning the 2 games needed to pass them

man, i watched maybe 15mins of last nights leaf game (first time i've watched any sort of leaf game in 2 months) and Kessel has completely given up. He floats around like he's an old mans beer league.

No wonder Bozak and JVR stats are down. When Kessel is on the ice that line is essentially short handed. No NHL team in their right mind would trade for Kessel.

I will say, if Kessel isn't tradeable because of this poor play, then you dont just take the best offer. The leafs need to draft one of McDavid, Strome or Marner to play with Phil.

If they can grab one of those 3, you keep phil and replace bozak on the top line.

Great signing for arguably our best defenseman. Glad they could lock him up.

Pierre McQuire just said, "the TB lightening fired then entire scouting staff when they drafted Brett Connolly over Cam Fowler. Since replacing that staff they've gone on to have the best drafting record in NHL history"

Listed some Key finds:

Palat
Namestinkov
Paquette
DeAngelo
Druoin
Erne
Koeokkoe
Tyler Johnson

Could you imagine if the leafs decided to cann Dave Morrison and actually hire a top end staff? i'd be building around Mark Hunter and getting Morrison out of here.
