I offered Savard who has far superior stats than Fowler at a third of the cost. Sounded like Lee was going to keep the pick when talking to him though.

I really like Savard, but not at the cost of 4-5 overall.

I'd offer the same for Savard as I did for Fowler, though.

Perlini + Skjei + one of Weal or McKeown.

The thing with Fowler is he was getting increasing leant on as a go-to defensive player as the season went on. His 2nd half SHTOI in comparison to his 1st half was pretty significant. And is still riding that #1 PP unit in Anaheim. He was averaging around 20 mins a night towards the end of the season. He's proven to be a high end defenseman offensive contributor and at 23 he is still rounding out the rest of his game. While it feels that he's already been around for some time he's over a year younger than Savard as well, and it was just this past season that we really saw a breakout in his game. Fowler could easily put up 45+ points while rocking high defensive numbers next year.

Good offer, but not as interested in moving him for multiple prospects. Just wanted one of the top 5 in this draft. If I didn't already move Demers for prospects I probably would have taken it.

The fact that Lindholm and Beauchemin work better as a pairing, really shouldn't be a knock on Fowler in my opinion. So i guess if were calling that the #1 pairing, I suppsoe by that logic yes Fowler is lower on the depth chart. But when Fowler out produces Lindholm and their ice time is essentially a wash, he lines on on the #1 PP unit over him, and Ducks fans back him as their #1 guy I really don't get this idea that Fowler is slipping down the depth to Hampus. Lindholm had a whopping 6 more minutes than Fowler on the season and they were #1 and #2 on the ducks respectively.

Their age is a huge factor. Hampus is doing what Fowler is at 2 years difference.

I'm just going to make my offer public.

2nd round compensation pick from OTT + 3rd round compensation pick from OTT + # 4 lottery protected (5 + PIT 2nd 2015, if 4 wins the lottery) for Vasilevski.

Bigger deal, if so inclined:

Vasilevski + Fowler for Perlini + Skjei + Weal + McKeown + 2nd round compensation pick from OTT + 3rd round compensation pick from OTT + # 4 lottery protected (5 + PIT 2nd 2015, if 4 wins the lottery)

I have a flair for the dramatic, so yes, I am offering more than I previously did.

You don't get the compensation picks if the pick is traded.

That would depend on what the CC meant by "Points #3 also work as sanctions for the GM responsible of missing gp. If the pick is traded at a time that voids #3, instead of sanctions you would have decreased value of the pick already affecting the offending GM in the deal."

I think where we are at a time past when it would void #3. I've had the pick since Jan 30th , 2014, so it's not like it was a recent or mid season acquisition. The compensation is beyond a shadow of a doubt owed.

To me the ruling means. I am acquiring the pick now with the knowledge that it will not reach GP. I know where it stands. I know the value of the asset I am acquiring, so I would receive no further compensation for said asset.
