Do I really have to post the whole two names you came back to me with as starters for talks out of the list of players I gave you bc I will? Or the offer you purposed to me this morning about Goalies? Or how you acted like adding a 4th round pick to the like one deal we've done was life or death? Save yourself the troubleplz. Thank you for your input on that matter tho kindly and good day sir.
not sure wh you feel like playing this retarded role here, probably to feel better about a deal you made too quickly.

you perfectly know those 2 players were only a start, and I told you I didn't even have access to my roster when replying to your PM.
I'm on a trip in a different country, I was not made aware you were going to trade him immediately so I thought I could look into it when back home.

ANyway, you probably saved me from some gross overpayment.
The thing that bugs me is that this means I'll probably have to struggle again in the upcoming roster submission with the roster limits.

as for the deal we did make and the 4th, then I guess I could say the same about you?

Think I agree with Mik and Paul. Good haul, but tons of uncertainty on the quality end (and that's even including the NHLers in return). Definitely some opportunities to make it more worthwhile - target better NHLers, target better picks. The interest level was definitely there across the league... but anyways, just my opinion.

Its just sad again that Mike was able to take advantage of previous GMs to the point where he accrued all these assets. Here's hoping the teams continue to balance out over the next couple years!!

There is a lot of talk about getting better offers. This pick has been up for grabs for 2 months now. Mr. Darkness has ran ever offer by Chuck and myself. The only other offer close to this was nicks imo. Guys always talk like there is a better offer to take or they would have offered more. I think this was a pretty good deal for the rebuild of that Dallas team. Im sure chuck and I will also help Mr. Darkness at the draft. He's going to end up with 8 very legit pieces for 1. Mostly all 1st rd talent.

That offer was fake and was being used to try and get people to overpay.

Otherwise, how would it have not been accepted?

As for this trade, Mike gives up a whole bunch of nothing (with regards to his starters) and gets the best prospect since Crosby lol. Smh.

Ya but it's the little things - e.g. I find it hard to believe that including the OTT pick was a deal breaker after all that was there? But what do I know - I'm not Mike...

Don't know how you don't demand that Ottawa pick be in there.

That's fine if it bugs you but don't act like it was my loss when you had your own agenda in mind

There isnt a lot of difference between pauls and billys teams. Billy was hit hard by injuries this year. The same could happen to paul next year

That's true.

Mike still hit a grand slam here though. Pretty much got mcdavid for yak and krug and a bunch of Meh.

Ditto. I love how guys always say after the fact that they would have offered more. Well this pick has been on the block for 2 months, so where have all these offers been? There are very few GM's here who even have the depth to trade the equivalent of 8 1st's for 1 play and even less that would be willing to part with that. Sorry if I don't buy some of your guys swan songs.

Because you don't value 1st round picks or 1st round prospects? If that is the case I would like to take your next 10 1st round picks off your hands lol!

Fraser wroteCOLONBut lets be real here. Do we really know how big of a contributor McDavid is going to be? His name carries so much more than his actual worth at this point, and I would say especially in the BBKL. Besides scoring categories do we know what this guy is going to provide? Will he consistently kill penalties? Will be be an above average hitter/blocker for a centerman? Sure elite scorers are valuable, there is no doubting that. But if thats all he does in the BBKL there will always be centers ahead of him in league value, even if he reaches his potential becomes the leagues most prolific scorer.

Personally I like Eichel as a BBKler more than McDavid. Thats just me, but I know I'm not alone there.
You are not alone.

Huh? I value firsts....in the top 10.

Lutd got a bunch of late firsts to go with krug and yakupov. Hardly something to brag over. You'd have thought with all the assets mike has there would have been some elite pieces coming back. I didn't see one.

Because only 10 legit NHL prospects come out of every draft? You act like he took Yak, Krug, and a bag of pucks.

Emile Poirier

^this guy right here could be the best H2H piece in the entire deal. 19 years old and tore apart the AHL with his 2 way game.

No, but outside the top5-10 its usually still a crap shoot....fwiw I do believe he he took yak, krug and pretty much a bag of pucks.

i didn't say the best offensive player, i said the best h2h player.

either way, lots of guys have opinions which is fine, we live in a free country, but at the end of the day this was the best offer, and a few of us who have been involved with the process all agreed on it. If Yak ends up playing with McDavid (which i think will happen) he could turn into a 40G guy, and get a ton of free assists off McDavid. In the end they could potieitnally have similar point totals.

The entire draft is a crapshoot including the top 10 in part to poor scouting and lack of analytics. There are almost always a couple of busts even in the top 10 and even in a draft this deep it is likely to happen again.

8 solid pieces increases the odds that at least 1-2 of them wind up being a major hit. There is a good chance we look back on this in a few years and go wow Willie really fleeced Mike on this one. If McDavid winds up being the best player in the NHL though I don't think he will mind much though lol!
