lets take a quick look here: how many current (last seasons) leaf roster player can we call is actually "talented" and good in ice hockey skills? Lets cross out the obvious Kessel/?JvR/Reilly (coming)
but the rest are absolute trash/slow/checking liner calibre. Why can't we draft guys like erik karlsson? Elias Lindholm? mark stone? tomas jurco? gusatv nyquist? dudes with actual hands made for hockey. Why do we constantly draft ppl like frederik gauthier? tyler biggs? these late 1st/2nd/3rd round picks should be absoutely key in continually rebuilding efficiently even in seasons we make playoffs and end up with a late pick... u screw those up and theres no way to recover. anaheim/det/stl constantly finish top of standings and replenish plenty of talent come the next years draft year after year. its no rocket science

We might have guys like Mark Stone if we actually let our prospects play in the NHL instead of signing guys like David Booth, trading for guys like Joakim Lindstrom, playing Colton fucking Orr.

When they do play, and mess up as they are prone to do, they are immediately benched and relegated to 4th line duties.

Hopefully this was only the old guard style and not how we run lines moving forward.
