For sure. I'm not arguing against that. Just saying varlamov is a top 5-7 goalie.

Also, price imo, is not posting a near .940 again though (or w.e it was...not sure what he finished at) so its not like I'll have a huge disadvantage in goaltending since, as I said above, Ithink varly is top 5-7
I don't think Varly is top 5-7...

Price
Lundqvist
Rask
Quick
Rinne
Luongo
Miller
Bishop
Crawford

are all easily better IMO.
Better than Crawford, miller, luongo. As good as if not better than quick (reg season stats blow recently), rinne.

i actually think Crawford is pretty overrated. He's a product of a stacked team.

IMO i'd put him in the 15-20 range.

Holtby is definitely being forgotten here, but I realize he has to do it for a longer time period... Varlamov actually has to do a bit more to be near Rinne though too... Varlamov is in a tier below that. He may bring it up this next season though

Disagree.

First tier is Rask, price, Lundy.

2nd tier (not thaaaaaat far behind) is guys like Bob, varly, rinne, holtby looks to be jointing this group too and I suppose bishop.

Varlamov should have won the vezina last year but he has more work to do before he's on rinnes level? Iunno Thom...

Yeah Holtby was a distant 2nd in goalies I'd take behind price. Him and Rask, atleast. Rinne is good but 32 years old, the tank has to run out sometime.

Even Strength S% ... Rinne second overall past year (in goalies in this convo ... no one is saying Dubnyk or Mason haha), Varla is WAAAY down that list. I believe that ESS% is one of the accepted stats that roughly quantify goalie skill.
Rinne at 0.9366 vs Varla at 0.9175 /... right with Andersen in ANA and Ramo ... for the last year

WhT are varlamovs numbers like since he was a starter? His numbers in Washington were not as good as they've been since he got traded.

Ur using just he last year? Why take out varlamov vezina caliber season?

Goaltending is a mixed bag, you have 3-5 really elite guys everyone has mentioned then you have about 20 goalies who are roughly the same, some have really solid years and some have sub par but they are typically pretty close to one another....then you have the journeymen goalies who are awful. Not a position it makes sense to pay a lot for unless you're getting one of those rare elite goalies as Lee just did. All imo of course.

Yeah, I told Chuck his offer was steep but I understand. I made him add his waiver pick to save some of my dignity.

Just gimme his ess% for last season where IMO he should have won the vezina.

0.9375 behind Rask's 0.9431 (and Harding too at 0.9415), price was up there too
