No details on that yet, but I would think it would be irrelevant he's an NHLer at this point. In an interview the other day Benning said that their plans this offseason have Kenins in a roster spot next year. Sung Virtanen's praises at playing in the NHL next year as well too. Were likely looking to deal 2 of Vrbata, Burrows, Higgins or Hansen with Baertschi coming on full time as well. They are going for a youth movement in Vancouver and not hiding it from the media/fans.

I'd be moving Vrbata and Burrows and replacing them with Baertschi and Virtanen. Kenins remains in the lineup with Vey sitting on the bench.

but they need a heavy winger to play with McDavid who would ease some of the BS that should be expected. Lucic the dream I'm sure, but I think even someone with the personality of Perry or Ladd would be an obvious need of theirs. Okposo, Iggy, Cally -> these really aren't guys who are regularly traded...

but running a line of Yakl/Hall - McDavid - Eberle clearly lack anyone willing/able to step in a scrum. Benoit or Purcell doesn't really bring that either.

I'd hope teams learn from a mistake like the Leafs' overpaying Clarkson. The problem is there's basically no quality free agents...guys will get overpaid by default. It doesn't help that the cap went up a bit. I'd put the over/under at $4 million a year...I wouldn't give him more than that.
