Looks like maybe the rumors of Dougie being a poor fit for the locker room might be true after all. Wonder if thats a Boston issue or a dougie issue though?

There was an article about this yesterday on ESPN, TSN, sportsnet? (one of them)

It said the locker room didn't like Dougie, seguin, Kessel and a few others. It went on to say that maybe the real issue is the core in Boston and not the star players it trades away.

Nice to see other teams except the leafs have issues for once.

As a Franson owner in another league I pray it's the Leafs, and under $6m a year. Toronto defenseman get inflated hits and blocks, the scorekeepers are giving fellows up there.

I remember hearing that Chara had demanded the 'C' during his negotiations in Ottawa and when Ottawa refused to comply he left for Boston where he was given a leadership role. Not sure if there is any truth to this, but that might be an issue?

Looking at guys like Boychuck, Iginla, Talbot, Kelly, Ference, and a few others they've had over the years they seem to be well regarded and well liked guys and recognized as leaders.

Easily defensively and no injury risk. I'd prefer Franson personally and liked him on the Leafs.

Is he that much better defensively? Think they are both pilon's personally. Much rather pick up a guy like bartkowski at the prices that are being bandied about.

Franson's advanced stats are very favourable, but he didn't get much time in NSH and everyone looked bad on the Leafs. Not saying I think he is worth 6M just that free agency is pretty weak and teams have $ to spend and you could do much worse than Franson.
