The lot of picks :)

Decided against the other offer. Having no faith in Dubnyk makes it tough for me to move Kuemper right now at the price of a backup.

If you were offered what you told me you were offered, then that wasn't the price of a backup. Especially one who posted a 905 sv percentage last season. You should have taken it. Dubnyk has a 6 year contract. Even if he falters, they need to keep going with him. But even on bad teams he put up a 915 career sv percentage, so don't get too excited.

I wouldn't be able to come close to what you were offered. And I never will.

No BS. It looks like I'll need some serious coaxing to ever move a goalie in this league. Values are much lower than I'm used to from other leagues it seems.

Actually it's more like in bbkl the higher the value, the more lowballs you get offered

Part of that issue is the market, none of the top teams need goalies and they have the most to offer

I can't imagine in any league a backup getting what you're asking unless that backup is so elite he is obvs going to be a starter.

No disrespect to Josh (SJ) but I was getting the vibe from him that I'd have to pay for Keumper in terms of starter prices. I realize a good backup can be very useful to a team but they're only in a 1/3 or 1/4 of the games. I don't see Dubnyk play 95% of the games like he did last year. But if you feel they are the "starter of the future", then that plays into your asking price. With the way goaltending can be in the NHL...any goalie can become a starter. You see the rejuvenation of Dubnyk or the breakout performance of Talbot or a Cinderella like run of Hammond that makes a goalie like Lehner become expendable. I'm watching in Detroit Petr Mrazek almost unseat Jimmy Howard a couple years ahead of schedule.

As a non-believer in Dubnyk, it basically would take a starter price for me to justify moving him. If Duby falters, Kuemper has shown he is capable of starting for them. And if Duby continues the magic, then he'll be off to start for a different team like Lehner or Jones or Talbot were this summer.

Didn't minny acquire dubnyk exactly because keumper wasn't showing them he could be a starter for them?

But anyways, even if dubnyk were to lose his job after being paid 24 million, I'd still hit 40 games between him and that edmonton goalie I grabbed. Maybe I'd be more interested if I cared about competing next year or the year after in getting my goalies backup. But I believe in dubnyk.

It would be better to move keumper to another bbkler who needs a goalie.

I'd also like to point out that ur asking for more than guys like talbot, lack, lehner, etc got when moved in the nhl at the draft. I don't see keumper in the same grouping as mrazek, talbot, Gibson and vasilevsky.

Not trying to burn bridges or post offers publicly. I've received a bunch of offers for Kuemper, none of which we're enough for me to pull the trigger.

Scott made a decent one that he might share with you. Type of deal that was risk/reward depending how picks pan out and if Kuemper ends up being what Josh thinks he can be.

Needless to say, I didn't offer as much for Keumper as I paid for Mike Smith. I tried to offer stuff at the equivalent of 1st round value. Of course, value is all relative depending on who you ask.

I never made the offer, nor was told what was offered, but was told the value was equivalent to 2 1st rounders. I would not pay that amount for keumper, and especially not more than that (given he rejected that offer).

I'd much rather make offers on his other goaltender, Mrazek.
