CBJ/PIT Vinny on the Move Again
Re: CBJ/PIT Vinny on the Move Again
Realistic:
To Philadelphia:
Brett Carson
To Phoenix:
2011 5th round pick ( Boston)
Idiotic:
To Colorado:
Jeremy Morin
for
To Philadelphia:
Max Lapierre
Kirll Kabanov (aka powder puff if you recall)
After obviously turning that offer down, I then later used max as a throw-in for in a deal to land a better dman. Also I wasn't asking for morin you offered him for lapierre I asked what I would need to add this is what you asked for. I think I made my point.

I traded you Mike Grier for Stefan Legein...And Miker Grier is a quality 3rd liner, your problem is that your asking prices are asinine, and alienate you from alot of general managers.
Additionally, why would you deal Draper for a 7th if you needed games played?

Re: CBJ/PIT Vinny on the Move Again
Kirill is a powder puff. If he ever gets his head on he will be something special.
Until then, there's a reasons why 30 GMs passed on him, some more than twice. At the time I made that offer, Morin was poised to make the top 6 on the defending Stanley Cup champions.

bottom 6 and some dont get caught up in the hype. Powder puff kirill is still worth more than morin, if you think I am wrong go trade him for ellis and forbort (and then a dumb and homer move for gormley + aittokallio but still)...oh wait no one would do that. Bottom line kirill>>>>>morin even at time it was offered.Kezia wroteCOLONKirill is a powder puff. If he ever gets his head on he will be something special.

39 years old, injured at the time, I needed help on D more than I did at forward (I believe that I had 3 dmen active in the NHL at the time), and I picked up Andrew Hutchinson for free off of waivers.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI traded you Mike Grier for Stefan Legein...And Miker Grier is a quality 3rd liner, your problem is that your asking prices are asinine, and alienate you from alot of general managers.

I thanked you more than once for trading Grier to me. My asking prices are asinine because of the quality of team that I took over. Maybe they are asinine because we value players differently. All I know is that I'm not trading my young promising players for 4th line grinders. I've offered to over pay with prospects ( Morin, Ross, Button and Rynnas for one good young player), I've put out that I was offering Ross, Button and a 1st for 1 young good player etc. Not sure what else you want to hear. If people don't bite, then they don't bite.

What a rebuilding team should do while they wait for their savior in the draft is work on putting some pieces around that player. If you don't finish last and get that pick, you at least need to fall back on who you actually have. If you nuke your team and don't get the player, you're going have another year of being the league's doormat. You want to work on assembling a complete roster. Recognize which guys who can help you going forward that are on your team now. If you essentially throw every deck chair off the ship and you'll have nothing to sit on...so to speak. To start over and trying to come back from the bottom is almost impossible because other teams are usually still a step of ahead of you. Especially with these guys...they're already holding most of the top young stars as it is. That's why I believe in the soft rebuild. Ice a relatively competitive team and work on getting younger or give rid of the dead weight and then gradually build around who you have. To completely slash and burn your team will mean that your team will be bad for a couple years while your kids are developing.
Re: CBJ/PIT Vinny on the Move Again
Morin was playing with Kane on the second line for most of the pre-season. Everyone and their grandmothers were penciling him in on the 2nd line.
About Kabanov? Cool. We value players differently. I don't like flakes. You're telling me not to get caught up in the Morin Hype? Morin has legitimately shown he can handle the NHL. Kabanov floated around on the ice, was late multiple times for practice and was demoted. I don't care that he said he changed. Actions speak louder than words.

to say he floated shows me that you didnt watch the preseason games.....because he didnt play in one. yes he is a flake but if he wasnt he would have been top 3. How could you have had him pencilled in imo, there are guys way ahead of him on the depth charts and have put in more time. everyones grandmother and dog knew that skille would make the team and not him, hell i would chose beach over him as well.Kezia wroteCOLONMorin was playing with Kane on the second line for most of the pre-season. I am done arguing though. I don't know why I still bother trying.

This is what I have done. I am rebuilding, it will take me a bit while my players develop. It's why I traded away the old people for youngsters. Most of the trades I've made have been for a very specific reason. Stortini, Moss, Parse, Sexton, all of the young goalies that I've added, Morin, Ross, D'Amigo... all have a spot on the future of my team. Then I have secondary players like Wick, Daugavins, Bouchard, Desharnais who have talent oozing from them. My NHL club is absolute shit. And will be until my kids develop. I don't mind a couple of years as the doormat while my players develop and I add 2 lottery picks to my team.Shoalzie wroteCOLONKezia wroteCOLONThen I'll trade prospects for them when I am in a position to do so. I can go through Bob MacKenzie's twitter and find the post where it says that Morin is all but penciled in as a 2nd liners if you wish. I never said he played in any games. There's a reason why he didn't. Floating on the ice during practice and being late. If Stefan wasn't a flake, he'd be a superstar right now, what point are you trying to make? Skille made the team because he is older, not because he is better.bryshook wroteCOLONto say he floated shows me that you didnt watch the preseason games.....because he didnt play in one. yes he is a flake but if he wasnt he would have been top 3.
