Re: Washington Block
Ya my only piece of advice: there is a difference between investing and holding vs. indecision. Most GMs are trying "not to lose".thom54 wroteCOLONWell ... you're correct. But also I built up the team to this point with my slower rate of doing things. I think everyone but Hanzal, Seidenberg, RInne and Neal are my acquisitions.Robin Hood wroteCOLONYa just razzin' thom...Just frustrates me to see lack of movement (definitely originates from negotiations with Thom) but also because with the assets WSH has, it should be a contender every year with a legitimate chance to win. Not just another eliminated team year after year. Meh.
I'm not necessarily looking to 'win' a deal, as people say I am, BUT I am not going to make a deal just for a deal's sake. To make a deal it needs to make sense for WSH (as I see it...which is where opinions differ!).
So while a deal may be 'fair' as far as raw stats are concerned, if it doens't improve the focus of WSH ... well ... why would I do it? Many trades are made on our ability to prognosticate a player's value over the next ... year or more. A higher turnover GM (such as Shiv) is a day-trader. So far I'm like a superconservative investor with minimal changes, with slow ?progressive? growth.
A bit of change of pace may be a good thing, but I also have emotional attachments to certain players which slows my pace.
I don't think your team has gotten any better since you have taken it over. Kareem's team was 1st in the league.
I've also seen many teams dig themselves out of a major hole in that time (see Matt in BUF or Fraser in VAN or Paul in CAR or Lee in PHI) with fewer assets. WSH should be a fucking beast in the east.
But like Steve said, to each their own.

Hahahaha
Re: Washington Block
I'd do this. Similar point totals but one has a good chance to play on mcdavid wing next season, or at worst rnh wing.bills09 wroteCOLONYakupov for Galchenyuk

Yup. Scheifele is the king
Re: Washington Block
Would give you a better offer on Galchenyuk
Re: Washington Block
I'd maybe do vrbata for him but might need a small add on you're behalf since vrbata out points galchenyuk across the board
Re: Washington Block
You think Vrbata has more value since he put up more points last year than Galchenyuk? The kid is still 21.

Welcome to BBKL. Didn't you say a very similar thing to me in PM about a deal around Markov and Goli?Bruyns wroteCOLONYou think Vrbata has more value since he put up more points last year than Galchenyuk? The kid is still 21.
Re: Washington Block
Markov has less value due to age but I'm cognizant of this and wouldn't think I can get Rielly for him for example which would be comparable to Vrbata for Galchenyuk. Dont remember talking Markov for Goli though, but Goli isn't a 21 year old emerging star.Robin Hood wroteCOLONWelcome to BBKL. You guys are fucking retarded if you think I was being serious.
I was trolling Thom who won't make a deal unless it's an outright win for him
