The thing is, getting Babcock was the first nice thing that's happened to us in a long time. We need more nice things to happen to us. Hockey is better when the Leafs are good. Rivalries are better, shit talking is better, the league is more exciting.

that's obviously how it works for Leafs fans, but for others like me Leafs competitiveness doesn't change how exciting the league is (btw, these first 2 nights have been very entertaining afaic)

There will always be some boring team (be it the Leafs or some other) and I can simply stay away from their games.

One thing though, media keep talking about the Leafs anyway, so if they were good that would be a bit easier to bear.

I like Despres for 3.7 for 5 years through his prime. Especially given his BBKL production. That doesnt kick in until next season though, so really, i have him for 3.23 over the next 6 years. I am even happier with that.

because 3.23 is not his cap hit for the remainder of the years he's signed. unless you are personally paying his wages and don't care about the cap hit

On a positive note for leaf fans, in nylanders first AHL game this year he had 1 goal and 9 shots. Last season he w barely tak 2 shots per game, so that is a nice trend. Generally will mean he is beginning to make that leagu look dumb. 1/3 of the marlies shots tonight.
