By all means if he thinks he's worth it, he should ask for it. However there's more than enough research that shows happiness and feeling 'complete' with your job does not increase with pay, and once you feel over-paid it can in fact go down. Add in the pressure of performing to that contract, eventual trade or cap shredding which will surely be coming... I think both for him and the Wings there is a better solution than maxing out on dollars.

Yeah Schenn fucking sucks lol! Excited to see Ghost and Leier get an opportunity with the big club. Leier gets rave reviews from people within the organization, so I'm really looking forward to seeing him play.

Yeah I'm sure MacDonald really regrets signing that contract in Philly . Making 5 mil a year to be getting dangled by NHL forwards . Couldn't be that they are just bad at hockey or anything.

My guess is he goes back down should they ever get healthy, but he sticks in a bottom 6 role next year out of camp. That said, if he plays well he will stick around. Hakstol rewarded Laughton for a great camp as well as Manning on a team that seemingly had no room for them.
