how many games it takes in the NHL to make the player eligible for waivers btw?

Read the link I posted. It depends on age, years after they signed, playoff games and AHL/Europe games.

looks like it goes from 160 to 60 depending on age, but doesn't only count NHL RS games.

Anyway, if I get it right no player under 20 seems to become waiver eligible after just 1 season and all players are exempt at least 1 season after signing their first NHL contract no matter the age

Correct, in the NHL anyone with 0 NHL games has at least one regular season exempt. We would have a lot more guys lose waiver exemption with barely any NHL GP then we would gain with the older Euros coming over though if the NHL model was followed.

I think Nesterov is exempt in the NHL

Jurco not anymore? I thought he was recently demoted by the Red Wings without getting exposed

Conditioning stint and Galiev is waiver eligible. All those players are subject to waivers and that's why they are scratched so often rather than sent to the AHL.

so both Nesterov and Jurco are on conditiong stints? I thought Jurco had been down for more than 2 weeks, which I think is the max, but I may be wrong.

that's something btw, NHL teams can use conditioning stints as an escape whereas we don't.. and do they have a limit on the number of healthy players they can scratch?

Nesterov is exempt still. Might not be later in the season had he continued playing so could be a game of the system by sending him down now.

Jurco is a conditioning stint, no idea how long he's been down or what the rule is on that. Think he just got called back up anyway. Whether he sees the ice again now ir not is another story...

Only know it because of the Fantrax note, own him in a few leagues
