I'd say trochek definitely has top line potential. In the current NHL, 52 points is a top line player. He will be close to that in his first full nhl season.

I don't see their scoring being overly different TBH, i don't think Larkin will be a top end scorer, I believe he's closer to Kesler than to Giroux. But that is still a far better piece than Trocheck.

Larkin has superstar potential, Trocheck will be a solid middle of the lineup player. Larkin is also a teenager and one of the top scorers on a strong Det roster.

pretty much my sense as well, good to see I am not alone. And majority also seems to think it's not close. I was honestly shocked when Mike put them on the same level.

I can see that side of it, but still not a deal id make unless trading larkin for trocheck guaranteed me the bbkl title, and there's no guarantee in fantasy or life.

It's probably a sign we need to change our gp rules, no pressure on mik to trade those guys and it means others miss gp.

I would be in favour of lowering GP, but 50-100 games at most. Honestly, how many teams miss GP per year? Like one?

Maybe if guys would pay for NHL players it wouldn't be an issue, I've offered Hudler to several rebuilders for picks/prospects (and not even top tier guys) and hear crickets...

As the person who is going to missgp, I don't care if we lower it. It's not like a 2Nd round pick is a rebuild killer. I'll get over it.

Also, hudler is an absolutely terrible head to head bbkl player. He has a fantrax score 500 points worse than pa parenteau. Think about that. P A Parenteau! He is a bad example, as rebuilders really shouldn't be going after someone like him at all. He is Mike ribeiro without pim, fow, and somehow even less hits.
