A bunch of people were under the impression that roster lock was our deadline. I believe i even asked chuck this last week. Roster lock seems to be the most logical

This is kind of my fear...GMs thinking it was one time but it was posted by Mik that it was 6 p.m. Would a reminder have helped?

Having the deadline at 6:00 gives all parties a chance to get all their affairs in order well in advance for the roster lock.

I think people just don't care anymore. It almost speaks volumes that a majority of the league assumed our deadline was roster lock (even cc members). People are just losing interest league wide. Overturning the deals that happened yesterday seems counter productive for the league.

Im not even speaking for myself. Mik can argue all he wants about lundqvist being better than Schneider. If my deal is reversed it saves me 3mil of cap in the offseason and i still get to keep an elite goalie in cory. It's the fact that no one would have even noticed these deals were late as we all thought we had until roster lock. People are just tired of mik enforcing rules to benefit his gain. It would be nice to see a CC shake up this summer. A few new faces, maybe a group of active guys who promote league prosperity.

Not to be a square we do need to follow the rules or else it's the wild west. I know it's not what you want to hear but late trades shouldn't be allowed if there was a day and time posted for the deadline.

Your take on the CC...we should have elections/re-elections after every season to find 5 people that can do the job and are people the rest of the league trusts with making and enforcing the rules.

Every GM should be up for evaluation after each season also. Guys that don't do what they're supposed to do or aren't very active should be replaced. For the guys who've been here for many years...some from the beginning...are still here because we truly like and care about this league.

I like Mik on the CC, he does a good job. I'll understand if the CC wants to overrule them.

I do, however, ask that it is about an hour worth of time that people were over and in the grand scheme of things people weren't trying to "break the rules". Merely a crazy day, and a deal got posted late. It's not like I'm messaging people today to make a deal.

I'll respect whatever decision you guys make.

No one assumed they were "breaking rules". That's the difference, it would be different if we posted late deals on purpose, but we all thought we were following rules by having our deals posted and our rosters set by roster lock.
Either way this will be my last post on this. I'll wait until a decision is made.

Scott, this makes it sound like it was my decision to make 6 p.m. the deadline and to go ahead and announce it.

Since you still have access to the CC board, you know I was not even the one who brought up that proposal, I simply agreed with what was proposed (it wasn't even much of a decision since it was exactly the same as last season) and I posted it when I was told to post it.

Looks like the fact I end up being the one posting announcements makes me look like the despot of the league, when actually the simple reason is no one else usually feels like taking the time to do it.

Don't misinterpret what I said...you didn't make the rule on your own. You posted it. I know it was discussed with the CC.

Ya. No issue with mik here. Picks up the slack for s lot of people and puts in the time.

Whatever the CC decides as to the trades I'm fine with.

I'll +1 this to repeat my support for Mik and the CC in general.

Yeah I don't think calling for Mik to be replaced really has anything to do with this, and isn't something that's best for the league, I would however like to know if the trades are going through so I can update my sheet etc.

I didn't misinterpret you, I knew that was not what you meant.

It's just under the circumstances I felt the need to clarify that thing.

agree, unfortunately.
Now, as for the reasons behind it, that's a whole different argument
(even cc members)
if that's the case, the fact CC members didn't know about the deadline that was discussed and approved inside CC board actually speaks volumes about the fact those CC members should not be part of the CC right now.
People are just losing interest league wide. Overturning the deals that happened yesterday seems counter productive for the league.
if people are losing interest there are reasons that have nothing to do with yesterday's deals. And obviously that's a really bad argument to get your deal approved.
The fact apparently CC members (who exactly?) told you the deadline was at roster lock and the fact there were late deals approved in the past, albeit never this late afaik, are definitely better arguments.
Im not even speaking for myself.
lol, for who are you speaking instead?
Mik can argue all he wants about lundqvist being better than Schneider.

I didn't think that was something to argue about, I thought it was considered a fact around the NHL.
People are just tired of mik enforcing rules to benefit his gain.

care to make examples?
btw, CC members don't vote on decisions about their teams.

In any case, this has not been the first time I've heard this argument. As false as your claim is, if it is a shared feeling I definitely need to step down from the CC.
I already mentioned I'll let administrators and GMs decide on that (meaning that either admins or majority of GMs would be more than enough for me to step down).

It would be nice to see a CC shake up this summer. A few new faces, maybe a group of active guys who promote league prosperity.
ohh, it would be nice to have a group of active guys who promote league prosperity, agree.

Rules are rules but we shud let shiv be contending with full roster and let me the rebuilder take on the injured assets. That's as pure as my opinion gets. Forget the damn cut off time. Should mention on an interesting note that another league had a deadline time for MIDNIGHT of the deadline day. Makes sense to me lol. I'd like to have had ample time outside of work hours all of us are accustomed to and smashed some deal talks for good 5-6 hrs before posting in a non rushed fashion. Dunno who's genius idea it was to have it like... before??lock?lol

I mean... More trades are GOOD for the league right?.. I was driving thru a Goddamn hail/snow storm after work at 430pm EST where shiv pm'd me about perry/little and cap cutting move (MacArthur for Lander if Josh deal went thru) I replied at 530pm saying ya let's do it. Then the fucker went back to work and didn't respond for like 2hrs. Yadiyada yada. Cmon folks. Let people fuckin trade

some CC members/admins have yet to post on the argument, and as for what was posted so far, I'd say there is no consensus yet at the moment.
That's the only thing that can be said right now
