Goodbye, BBKL

Post by Shep »

I am stepping down as Admin and GM of the St. Louis Blues. As one of the founding members, it was tough to leave considering all the time and effort spent here, but I have zero interest in the league anymore and it isn't fair for you guys to have me here.

I will still come by the forums once in a while to gloat about a DFS win or something.

Good luck to everybody in the future of the league and in life.

As I said privately, this sucks! But understandable. Hope you stick around if not as a GM.

Sadly, we're all going to make this tough decision eventually. We can't do this forever but hopefully the league lives for years to come even if we begin to lose more of the originals.

I want to thank Shep personally for being so helpful to me when I started out in this league many moons ago. He was always willing to answer my questions when I joined. Mike and Scott (Smith) were also very gracious with their time and helped me get acclimated with this league.

All the best to you, Shep but I'm sure we'll see you around since you aren't leaving us completely.

I'm not as sure. As someone who left twice and came back, I'd say that my 3rd kick at the can has been about something completely different than winning the league -- this is why you didn't see me sell/trade like crazy to compete this year.

It becomes about the community for me now.

I think anyone that wants to bow out should think it over and not leave over an emotional decision. I would trust Shep thought about it and didn't just bow out because he lost in the playoffs.

yeah, that really didn't seem the case, even more so after reading what he posted in recent times on the subject on the CC board

Bye, Shep. I hardly knew thee. It's unfortunate to lose long serving members.

Losing in the playoffs was simply a formality for me. I made this decision a while ago but did not want to leave in the middle of the season, yet wanted to give my replacement the entire off-season to overhaul this team.

I almost left after last season, but wanted to see if I could rekindle the enjoyment I once had.

Only a few of us left now, who originally joined and has not left. Sad to see you leave Shep. Sometimes the passion can only be rekindled if you leave...Hope to see you back some day.
