Depends how you view Larsson. Matthews projects to be between McDavid and Eichel which might be better than Johanson who has been good but a bit inconsistent and a headcase. Definitely an offer to think on though for Scott.
Re: Detroit Trading Block: Offseason 2016
Tyler Johnson + Tyson Barrie + 15th overall
Re: Detroit Trading Block: Offseason 2016
Matthews is pretty easily better than RJ imo, who was the best player offered here i believe
Re: Detroit Trading Block: Offseason 2016
I'd ask for a couple picks thrown in but it's by far the best offer ive seen in this thread.

Re: Detroit Trading Block: Offseason 2016
I figured I could count on Mike and Steve to set the bar high on the bidding war for the 1st overall. I've been checking out both rosters over the weekend to identify some names I'd want.
I think you guys are both on the right track...offering younger stars and other pieces I can build around. Ekblad was moved for guy like Subban who has a big salary but he's in his prime years. I don't want to trade this pick for player(s) who I won't get to see their best seasons while they're on my roster. When I draft someone, all their best years are still ahead of them.
I won't discourage other teams to get involved...I don't see making a fast decision on this.

Neither of them will. They have the assets and interest to make this happen. This is the best thing Scott can do with the pick.bills09 wroteCOLONMike doesn't fuck around ..

If I'm Scott I keep Matthews, Bennett and move Subban for two decent defenders and other 1sts this year, keep a young core together to build around

You don't have the heart for this. Just hang back n watch lol!thom54 wroteCOLON4th and 7th overall?
Re: Detroit Trading Block: Offseason 2016
I'd probably keep the pick. You have to hit a home run to consider this, not just a "yeah I win that trade" IMO. These types of opportunities do not come around very often.
