BTW, fantrax scores are a joke and should not be used as a basis to judge players. remember when Jeff Schultz was a top 10 BBKL player based on a + 50 rating?

We weren't on Fantrax in 2009-10 and a quick look shows he was 64th for D and had solid periphs too. Maybe CBS had him rated high but Fantrax score is pretty decent at comparing the impact a player has if the GP are similar. Sometimes you want a specfic stat so you don't care if their overall Fantrax score is low a la Matt Martin but for the most part it's not bad to give a quick glimpse of how good someone is.

Like I said I still have no issue with you declining the trade, I just thought talking down Getzlaf was unnecessary and took exception to calling 87 points 2 seasons ago "a few years" and using "sharp decline" to me it painted a picture of an aging player who used to be good and now isn't, but it gave me a chance to talk him up for anyone forgetting how elite he is. I like Dubi too for what he brings and think he is in a good spot next year on CBJ so I didn't need to try and say how inferior he is to Getzlaf I just hoped you wanted to upgrade your team enough to part with a couple picks that could end up not being impactful and assumed you had some cap space.

i was explaining to Kim how Getzlaf is no longer an 80 point player. 60+ is still really good.

Likely going to try and cut cap with a W or D instead of C. Couldn't get Scheifele+ either, but interested in the following players in a Getzlaf deal if their owners want to talk. Carter, Henrique, Brassard, Zibanejad, Monahan, O'Reilly. Hoping at the draft when league activity is up it will be easier to deal.

8 players in the last two seasons have had 80+ including a 36 year old Thornton. Thornton had a sharp decline too only putting up 65 points when he was 35 and then somehow managed to get 17 more points when he was a year older. It's almost as if player's points don't only go up every year or down every year haha.

As of now I'd only move Plekanec/Getzlaf/Crosby with a C coming back and ROR is the only C you have on your roster that is worth talking about in a big trade. Don't think I'll move Kadri or MacKinnon since if I'm shedding cap I'd lose bad in any deal involving those 2.

I'll stop hijacking Lee's thread now though since I have my own.
